question

I have 2 of these readers and when plugged into a USB 3.0 port it cuts in and out.It works fine in the 2.0 port. Running Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Everything else works in the 3.0 port, so I know that isn't the problem.. Any ideas? Thanks,Bob

question

Is there a longer cable OEM or third party which can replace the short supplied one? Will this compromise transfer rates, or is Lexar just being cheap?
Asked by: Joel
I don't know of a place to buy a longer cable for the reader. In terms of transfer rates, depends on how long you want to go, but most reasonable runs of USB should be fine. I assume they don't supply a very long cord, because most people hook it up very close to their computer for downloading.

question

Does this work with OS X 10.9 and newer? OS X 10.9 broke lots of card readers. Is this one of them?
Asked by: Kevin N.
I can't say. I've only used it on Win7. Love it.

Will this be compatible with SDHC memory cards.
Asked by: Anonymous
No it is not. The reader only reads CF type cards and is not able to read any SD type memory.

question

I'm getting lost in this card reader bit. I had a sandisk Firewire that was great. Will not work with new imac because of the firewire support gone. Will this thing open the Sandisk CF cards I bought years back and use on my D300 and D700? I have no clue on UDMA stuff. Thanks
Asked by: Anonymous
The Lexar Professional Workflow CFR1 Card Reader will transfer data from any CompactFlash card. UDMA 7, which stands for Ultra Direct Mode Access 7, is the latest transfer mode under the UDMA interface. UDMA 7 allows a maximum transfer rate of up to 167MB/sec. This can be compared to the previous UDMA mode, UDMA 6, which allowed transfer rates of up to 133MB/sec.
