question

I want to use my 70-200 2.8 VR II on Sony A7, Can I do?Has AF?Thanks
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, you will be able to use a Nikkor 70-200mm VR II f/2.8 on the Sony A7 with this adapter, since it is a Nikon G lens. However, you will not be able to use electronic functions such as autofocus.

The Metabones Nikon G Lens to Sony NEX Camera Lens Mount Adapter would allow you to use a Nikon mount Zeiss lens (T* 2/35 ZF.2) on an E mount camera such as the a7R.

question

I recently purchased a Sony a6000 and would like an e-mount adapter for my Nikon lenses. I have a Nikkor 18-200 1:3.5-5.6 G ED DX lens (no aperture ring) and a Nikkor 70-200 1:28 G ED lens (no aperture ring) as well as a Micro Nikkor 200 m 1:4 D lens (with aperture ring) and a Nikkor 1:2.8 D 20mm (with aperture ring). Is there an adapter that will accommodate both types of lenses? Which adapters would you recommend for these lenses?
Asked by: Anonymous
Since not all of your lenses are G lenses, I would not advise you to use this particular Nikon F mount to Sony E mount adapter. I suggest the Voigtlander adapter, which will enable to use the manual aperture ring on the 200mm f/1.4D lens, and will enable to you to control the aperture speed of your G lenses through the camera body. Please note however, that automatic lens functions will not be retained with the use of this adapter, such as autofocus or auto exposure: http://bhpho.to/1jwxfRW

question

I just purchased a Sony A7 from you. I have an NEX-7 so can use those lenses but I also have a large selection of various generations of Nikon lenses (vintages from my old F3 to current D800) that I would like to use on this body. What is the correct adapter. I see some from Metabones but they specifically indicate Nikon to NEX and not A7.
Asked by: Anonymous
The Metabones Nikon G Lens to Sony NEX Camera Lens Mount Adapter is compatible with the Sony full frame E mount cameras such as the a7 and a7R. This adapter would be a good option for using your Nikon lenses on the a7 and NEX-7.

You could use the Metabones Nikon G Lens to Sony NEX Camera Lens Mount Adapter to mount a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 lens for Nikon on the Sony a7R, yes.

question

I want to use this with my Nikon G 70-300 mm lens (which is somewhat heavy). Does the foot have a 1/4-20 thread machined in it so I can mount my Manfrotto plate taking the stress off the NEX-6 tripod socket when using this lens on a tripod?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it does. The foot of the adapter is designed to fit into Arca-Swiss type quick release assemblies, but can be removed to reveal a standard 1/4-20 thread size to connect to standard tripod heads and plates.

question

I have a AF Nikkor 85mm 1:1.8D and AF Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8D lens. Would this be the right adapter to use with the Sony A7 body. Both lenses have aperture rings. I understand that all focusing would be manual. Thanks.
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes this adapter is compatible with Nikon D series lenses as well as the G series lenses.

question

Is this the proper adapter for mounting the AF-S Micro-Nikkor F2.8G ED lens on the Sony A7 camera...?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Metabones Nikon G Lens to Sony NEX Camera Lens Mount Adapter would be the correct adapter to connect the Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor f/2.8G ED lens to the E-mount on the Sony Alpha a7 Mirrorless Digital Camera. (The lens focal number was not listed above, but if it is a Nikon f/2.8G lens as you indicate, it would be the correct adapter).
