Manfrotto MB MA-H-S overview

  • 1Description

The small, black water-repellent Advanced Holster S from Manfrotto holds a DSLR with an attached kit lens inside the padded main compartment. Additionally, it holds two memory cards inside dual padded slip pockets underneath the front flap. To prevent confusion regarding if the memory cards are empty or full, red organization tabs can be tucked into the pockets after the cards have been used.

An exterior zippered pocket on each side of the holster holds small accessories such as filters or chargers. To protect your gear during unpredictable weather, a detachable rain cover is included. Additionally, a detachable shoulder strap, a padded top grip handle, and a rear belt strap provide a variety of comfortable ways to carry the holster.

    Manfrotto MB MA-H-S reviews

Advanced Holster S (Small) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would have been a good one, but... I made this purchase because of the brand name and the customer reviews. Didn't appreciate the problems until I used it a day or so. The overall design is adequate, but the main zipper is too wimpy to do the job. It catches and binds in the corners, totally unacceptable on a product in this price range. I found the shoulder strap a nuisance because the padding is sewn in place and if you try to reposition the bag behind your hip the padding is no longer in the correct place. Otherwise, it works as a camera bag and I'll use it until the zipper croaks. Then I'll buy a different brand, not Manfrotto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy for Street Photography When I want to take out my X-Pro2 with a single lens for street photography, for example, and want to have the ability to put it away if I am at a restaurant or encountering inclement weather, this little holster with rain cover has been ideal. As importantly to me, when I was in B&H looking for a solution, I had the most helpful staff person ever, a young Asian woman who was herself a photographer and went the extra mile to make sure that the camera with the longest lens would fit the holster.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it with some reservations I think the case is pretty well made. My reservations: (1) For a "S", the case was a little bigger than I thought it would be, with quite a gap between the holster body height (from bottom of body to viewfinder). I ended up putting cutting and wedging a piece of foam between the viewfinder and the inside of the bag. That being said, as it's wedged in, I can probably stick some thin accessories between the foam and the case and not have them fall to the bottom when the camera gets taken out. (2) the side pockets are a little small -- can't fit a lens pen in without sticking it in diagonally, which cuts the space for other accessories. (3) The rain cover is separate AND you have to take the shoulder strap off to put it on -- hard to do when it suddenly starts to rain -- but maybe you have to take off the shoulder strap for other cases as well. That being said, I like the feel of the case and kept it for my Olympus OMD-EM5 with a 12-40 pro lens..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Mirrorless I wanted a small grab and go bag for my X-T2 with 55-200mm lens, metal Grip, arca plate, and Spider strap. It has decent padding and everything fits snugly. There are extra pockets for small items like memory cards, a cloth, or battery. The bag is high quality and I have had no problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact for a compact kit I went to B&H looking for a bag for those times when I want to carry only my Canon 6d and 40mm pancake lens, maybe with an extra battery and a polarizing filter. A knowledgeable salesperson pointed me to this bag. It's perfect.
