A flexible zoom covering a popular focal length range, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO from Olympus is a wide-to-portrait-length 24-80mm equivalent lens for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. Its sophisticated optical design, which includes a variety of aspherical, low dispersion, and high refractive index elements, reduces both chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range for notable clarity, sharpness, and color accuracy. A ZERO lens coating has also been applied to improve contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Beyond the advanced lens design, this zoom is also characterized by its constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, as well as its durable weather-sealed construction for working in a variety of conditions. Additionally, a Movie & Still Compatible autofocus system achieves fast, smooth, and silent focusing performance, and a manual focus clutch affords instant switching between focusing methods.

What is the use of the l-fn button ?
Asked by: Anonymous
This is an interesting convenience feature. It essentially allows you to program a custom function into the lens that you would commonly access from the menu, saving time by allowing you to access the function without moving hand off the lens or camera away from your face.

Will this lens work with Panasonic LUMIX G ...

Will this lens work with Panasonic LUMIX G DMC-G85MK?
Asked by: Brandon
I do not myself own an DSLR Panasonic camera; however, it is my understanding that the lens between Olympus and Panasonic are compatible. I learned that from John Greengo who is an instructor at Creative Live. I, myself, own an Olympus camera and I know I can use Panasonic lenses on my Olympus camera body. I believe the main difference is that Olympus has their Image Stabilization in the camera body and Panasonic has it in their lenses. I do not know if that will make a difference for you using an Olympus lens on your Panasonic body. I can tell you that the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro is absolutely one of my favorite lenses.

Is the lens compatible with the underwater housing PT-EP13 for the Olympus OMD-EM5 ii?
Asked by: Romain F.
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO Lens cannot be used in the Olympus PT-EP13 Underwater Housing for OM-D E-M5 Mark II. It is too large. A wider lens will allow you to get closer to your subjects and will produce better results. The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f/4-5.6 Lens is compatible with the housing and will give you better results. For more underwater help send an email to [email protected]
