Olympus LC-62D reviews

LC-62D Metal Front Lens Cap for M. Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO Lens (Black) is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from total garbage What a great lens the 12-40 is! What a ridiculous lens cap! Yes it falls apart, and if you happen to be on a trip and forgot that the EM5 needs a tube of super glue for all the pieces that keep falling off, then you're out of luck fixing this thing. When it's started to work loose, it also falls off the lens. Finally, mine fell off for the umpteenth time and I didn't notice, so I limped home with only a beat-up UV filter protecting the lens. I will NOT replace it with another Olympus. How hard is it to make a lens cap?!?!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a cap but C R A P This lens cap keeps on breaking after a few days of use! In a matter of weeks, second lens cap already broke. I hope the third one lasts! It seems like it is made of really cheap material. There is no quality at all. Too bad you use it on a really high quality lens. But with the cap being so bad, how will I protect my lens? I wouldn't call it a cap but C R A P!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad construction This is a review for my second LC-62D.The first one fell appart after two months and that one fell appart after 3 months. The issue is the metalic ring that olds and contain the pieces together. The glue or double sided tape fails and the ring comes loose. It is so so engineering and bad quality control. This happened as well with the lens hood of the 12-40mm f/2.8 Zuiko pro. They just fall appart.Spare yourself $, buy the OLLC62 for half the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lens Cap for 12-40 Pro - Olympus I use the lens cap on the lens to protect the lens. The original that came with the camera quit working...the mechanism would not compress. Olympus was kind enough to send me a replacement, but by the time I emailed customer service and they emailed back to say they were going to replace the cap under warranty....I decided for $ to have B&H get the lens cap to me a lot faster. I now have two lens caps for this lens and hopefully no more problems. I do think highly of the M.Zuiko 12-40mmf/2.8 Pro lens.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keeps breaking Am on my second of these lens caps and yesterday it just fell apart. Again. For a company that makes such quality equipment, I don't understand the poor construction of this lens cap. Right now I have a sock over the lens--very classy--and will go look for another cap by a different manufacturer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different pinch type than the rest Most pinch type lens caps allow pinching from the center and the sides. This one doesn't allow pinching from the sides. Keep that in mind, you will lose a second or two trying to crab around the outside like other caps. Some muscle memory needed. Center pinch works, but after experience, I kept getting fingerprints on my lenses after trying take off a cap that was not there. I got in the habit of grabbing around the outside. At least this cap's outside is metal and that jog's my memory to pinch in the center. Not a show stopper for many buyers, but keep it in mind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible lens cover If my money were as good as this lens cover, I would be prosecuted. The thing fell apart after only 2 weeks of moderate use. Beautiful lens, junk cover. Come on, Olympus--give us a cover that lives up to the quality of the lens!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from J to the UNK What's to say. An expensive lens cap that works like a toy that came out of an old bubble gum machine. The much cheaper Sensei is way better lens cap that lasts longer.
