Love this lens. It can do auto focus or manual and it's very easy to switch between the two. Couldn't ask for more and the depth of field is crazy.

An AMAZING Lens

I've always used Fuji's 35mm f/2 R Lens but this 23mm is a game changer. Just a completely different style and I love it. SO CRISP. Street photography just got that much more fun for me.

So far so good

I bought this as an upgrade from a Fuji 23mm f/2 and so far I am seeing excellent results.

This lens is a classic for a reason. It's better than I even thought. Super sharp. It's a comfortable focal length for everyday shooting and fast enough for sunset/night photography. It can handle almost any situation you throw at it. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Fantastic focusing and color. Great for everyday use and switching back and forth between wider shots and portraits. Street photography is great with this as well. Looks great with the lens hood as well. Very stylish

Well Built

Using on an X-T2 body. Lens is Made in Japan, well built (metal construction), not clinically sharp (tested 2 copies with similar results). Switching from Auto to Manual focus is through a clutch. Aperture ring rotates too easily, thus the aperture can be changed if the aperture ring is bumped or touched accidentally. IMHO the lens is overpriced at $899. If you require a 35mm (equivalent) focal length, at $699, it is worth a try.

A++ Lens

This lens is good stuff! Very high quality construction and the images it produces are clean and lively. The AF is quite fast and reliable on my X-T4. It makes oldschool clicking and twirling sounds. Not disruptive, but not silent for sure. The stock petal lens hood looks ridiculous, so don't forget to grab a square-shaped hood of your choice.

I've owned this for a while but consistently disappointed in the sharpness. It's hazy yet somehow looks oversharpened at 1.4. Is this normal or did I get a dud?
Asked by: Christopher
The FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/1.4 R Lens has been one of the Fujifilm lenses with the highest reviews. People find it to be really sharp, but do complain about focusing noise when it is wide open at f1.4. If one was using this lens and not able to get very "sharp" photos, it is possible the lens was actually defective. Lenses do vary from one to another, and it's technically impossible to create every one of them, to be perfect in every way

question

does this lens fit the Sony A6000 without an adapter?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R Lens is designed specifically for the Fujifilm X-mount, and is not directly compatible with the Sony NEX E-mount. Unfortunately, we do not currently have an adapter that would allow you to attach a Fujifilm X-mount lens onto the Sony NEX E-mount.

question

I'm looking for a nice, clear filter to protect this lens. The accessories section shows a 62mm Filter. Is this size best for this lens (Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R Lens)? If so, where does that measurement come from?
Asked by: katie f.
its the diameter of the circular lens you can also use a larger filter with step up ring.

question

Would you recommend this lens to be used on a X-T20? I plan on buying a 23mm prime lens and prefer the low light capabilities and bokeh with the 1.4 aperture over the 23mm, 2.0. I am willing to spend the extra money for the 1.4 but I am concerned the the lens is too big and heavy for the X-T20.
Asked by: Philip
I use this on my X-T20. It's large if you are used to the 35 or 23 f2 but in terms of balance, the 1.4 is very good. As Matthew mentioned, the image quality, bokeh, and low light capabilities are amazing!
