FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/1.4 R Lens
Key Features
  • X-Mount Lens/APS-C Format
  • 35mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Aperture Range: f/1.4 to f/16
  • One Aspherical Element
Distinguished by its fast design, the XF 23mm f/1.4 R from FUJIFILM is a general wide-angle prime offering a 35mm equivalent focal length to suit working with a broad range of subjects. The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions and enables greater control over depth of field for isolating subject matter. The optical design incorporates one aspherical element, which helps to reduce distortion and increase sharpness, and a Super EBC coating has also been applied to minimize ghosting and flare. Additionally, a rounded seven-blade diaphragm is featured, and contributes a smooth bokeh quality.

I've owned this for a while but consistently disappointed in the sharpness. It's hazy yet somehow looks oversharpened at 1.4. Is this normal or did I get a dud?

The FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/1.4 R Lens has been one of the Fujifilm lenses with the highest reviews. People find it to be really sharp, but do complain about focusing noise when it is wide open at f1.4. If one was using this lens and not able to get very "sharp" photos, it is possible the lens was actually defective. Lenses do vary from one to another, and it's technically impossible to create every one of them, to be perfect in every way

does this lens fit the Sony A6000 without an adapter?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R Lens is designed specifically for the Fujifilm X-mount, and is not directly compatible with the Sony NEX E-mount. Unfortunately, we do not currently have an adapter that would allow you to attach a Fujifilm X-mount lens onto the Sony NEX E-mount.

I'm looking for a nice, clear filter to protect this lens. The accessories section shows a 62mm Filter. Is this size best for this lens (Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R Lens)? If so, where does that measurement come from?
Asked by: katie f.
its the diameter of the circular lens you can also use a larger filter with step up ring.

Would you recommend this lens to be used on a X-T20? I plan on buying a 23mm prime lens and prefer the low light capabilities and bokeh with the 1.4 aperture over the 23mm, 2.0. I am willing to spend the extra money for the 1.4 but I am concerned the the lens is too big and heavy for the X-T20.
Asked by: Philip
This is an amazing lens. It's a bit heavy, but seats and balances fine on my X-t2. Is a stellar performer in low light
