question

How long does this take to charge and how long does it last a 100% charge?
Asked by: Malachi A.
The first charge may take 1-2 hours. After that, 30 minutes would be more likely. From the moment you take it off charge it will start to lose power but what that means it would be down to about 90% charge in two weeks or so.

question

Is this a smart battery?
Asked by: Christa J.
Shane wrote a really helpful answer? Smart batteries are supposed to be better than the old ones which had memory issues. The nickel cadmium batteries needed to be fully discharged or they would not charge up fully the next time around. Over time the capacity of the batteries became less. Lithium ion batteries are not supposed to have this problem. Then there are batteries which the camera can query and know how much charge is left before depletion. Brand specific batteries are made compatible. Off brand may say and indeed may have the tech for knowing the current charge of the battery. I have used and they did as advertised.
