Manfrotto 055XPROB Reviews

055XPROB Tripod & 502HD Flat Base Head Kit is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Head is all backwards This tripod head is all backwards! Its a pain in the butt to use now because Manfrotto switched the tilt lock tightener to the right side which makes it inconvenient to constantly take your right hand off to unlock it. I dont know about everyone else but my right hand was always locked down on either the tilt/pan stick or body of the camera, my left hand was used to lock/unlock the tilt feature. Its all backwards! Whats up Manfrotto?!?! why try and fix something that isn't broke! On a side note, the twist locks that tighten and loosen the pan/tilt stick and locking plate and fragile and break very easy with a bump. This head is a step down from the old 701 series and 501 series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Met expectations and more. This is a nice package at a nice price. I researched both components, and had little problem with either on the one job on which I used them. The locking knobs on the head are a bit awkward, but easy to get used to; the tripod had some shake, but I had it fully extended to accomodate an improvised performance space for a chamber music concert at a public library. The finished video was fine.
