The AC1900 Dual-Band PCIe Wireless Adapter from ASUS has 5th generation 802.11ac chipset which gives dual-band, 2.4/5GHz for speeds up to 1.30 Gb/s. Its flexible extended antenna placement helps you pinpoint the best reception in the environment. The wireless adapter also provides instant Wi-Fi upgrade for your desktop, thus no more messy Ethernet cables needed. Its high power design clears up dead zones with 150% greater coverage and custom heat sink dissipates heat for more stable and reliable non-stop operation.

Fastest Wi-Fi Standard: 802.11ac
The PCE-AC68 adapter uses Broadcom's 5th generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac chipset to reach speeds of up to 1.3 Gb/s through the 5GHz band, which is three times faster than 802.11n Wi-Fi. At the same time, it maintains full backward compatibility with all previous Wi-Fi protocols, providing high performance two-way transmission while ensuring a smooth transition to 802.11ac and seamless interconnection with existing devices.
Next-Generation Wi-Fi on Both Bands
Broadcom TurboQAM hardware integrated on this adapter brings the speed benefits of next-generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. At 600 Mb/s and 1.3 Gb/s respectively, they turn the PCE-AC68 into an AC1900 wireless adapter, providing speeds that cannot be bettered by generic wireless adapters. Connect the PCE-AC68 to ASUS networks to attain the very highest possible Wi-Fi speeds.
Extend and Strengthen the Wireless Connection
ASUS AiRadar intelligently strengthens wireless device connectivity using precise directional signal amplification for extended coverage, increased data-throughput speed, and enhanced stability. Wi-Fi-connection strength varies based on environment you are in, so the PCE-AC68 intelligently detects wireless router locations and 'shapes' data transmissions using three external antennas and high-powered beam-packing.
No More Dead Zones with 150% Coverage
Powerful two-way transmission and a signal-boosting high-gain design give the PCE-AC66 two-way transmission that extends Wi-Fi range and coverage by up to 150% compared to generic client devices. This extended reach means the elimination of many dead spots at any location, offering fast and uninterrupted HD streaming and smooth multiplayer gaming wherever you are.
Flexible Extended Antenna Placement
The three detachable antennas of the PCE-AC68 can be placed remotely via bundled extension cables. A magnetized stand also comes in the box, which can easily attach to various surfaces for more placement options. By making the antennas mobile, the design offers more flexibility in choosing locations for better signal reception and quality.
Stylish Aluminum Heatsink Handles Heat for Extra Stability
The added heatsink uses highly-conductive aluminum to remove heat from the chipset, ensuring greater reliability for non-stop operation. Lower temperatures translate into a more stable device in all climatatic conditions, even during hot summers, and greater stability means more consistent connectivity and longer product lifespan. Plus, the heat sink has been crafted for a stylish look, once more showing ASUS always goes beyond the spec.

AC1900 Dual-Band PCIe Wireless Adapter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive! I have the (supposedly) 40 mbps service from Century Link. I was getting only 20 to 21 mbps at my desktop computer through my local network. I am getting around 32.8 at the moden/router, so, I was losing a lot of speed between the modem/router and the desktop. With this ASUS device, I am now getting 32.5 mbps at the desktop computer, which is a 57% increase in speed. The installation was straight-forward and simple. My only complaint is that the cables from the antenna to the PCI-e card are only 40 inches long, too short for my installation. I will have to relocate the desktop (somehow). That way I may be able to get even a little more speed if the antennas are installed higher from the floor level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fast but loud This card is fine. It looks good and works well. The heat sink is actually necessary because it does get warm under heavy loads. The reception strength is a bit under my expectation but it still gives me my maximum Internet speed. The only disappointment is the coil whine. It makes a noticeable noise when under load (downloading something or watching an online video). I built a silent rig and this card spoils it a bit. But if you have a regular computer, it shouldn't bother you much. After exchanging it the new card has the same noise. B&H customer service is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommended Buy! This WiFi card is amazing! I needed one for my new build since I can't use an actual cable let alone run it from the room all the way upstairs to the office that the router is in. I did not expect the quality and the speeds I'm getting from this card. I am getting pretty close to the speed that I was getting with another laptop that was connected directly. My gaming experience is still astonishing. The Antennas are also a nice addition and you don't need to have them on to get great WiFi reception but man does it make my case look awesome! Totally worth the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT DECISION - 4 TIMES THE SPEED I had an older Hawking Wireless USB Network Adapter that was rated at 54mbs but reality was I was getting about 2mbs on true transfer transfer rates (and not multiple files, but one big 2 gig file). However, this bad boy card by ASUS boosted my transfer rates by 4 times in speed. I was getting a true 8-10mbs with the same exact scenario. And in both situations, there was only 30 feet between my PC and the NETGEAR Gigabit Wireless Router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For all intents and purposes - Excellent This product installs easily and is easy to setup. As an NYC Time Warner user who pays for a 100Mbps connnection with a Netgear R6300 router (delivers AC as well), I can say this delivers on connection (5G) to that specified max. Not much more I can say other than that. If I paid for 300Mbps, I'm sure it would deliver on that speed with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its worth every dime. I have coupled this with the new AC68 Asus Router and its totally awesome. Walls, 3 floors, back yards, concrete, it reaches everything. and at an exce3llent throughput.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy Customer I had been using USB dongles for Wi-Fi and I was losing signal or getting slow performance since my router is pretty far away. This gave me much better range with the 3 antenna and the ability to move it around for the best reception. It also has given me better speed and a consistent connection. Glad I got it. Probably should have given it a 5 but I'm not real good with installing new cards and that took me a while.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is THE wireless card to buy! Used this car in my MACpro (early 2009). This is THE wireless card to buy; installed in the MAC, turned it on; Voila!, wireless! I might attribute the ease of use to the MAC OS, it was literally plug-n-play. The gain with those external antenna's is awesome as well; I saw at least 5 more wireless networks in the neighborhood that I have not seen listed on any of the laptops!
