The CDT-3650-C II In-Ceiling Speaker from Klipsch is a 6.5" 2-way in-ceiling speaker, which handles 50 Watts of power and has a frequency response of 63 Hz to 23 kHz. The 3650-C II's pivoting IMG woofer is paired with a 1" aluminum compression driver (tweeter) mated to a Tractrix Horn in a two-way design.
Klipsch Controlled Dispersion Technology (CDT) allows for the tweeter to swivel while the woofer can rotate a full 360° and pivot 15° in any direction. The controlled dispersion of the horn-loaded tweeter allows the high frequencies to be directed towards the listening area. This, combined with the woofer's ability to also direct more narrowly dispersed mid-bass frequencies, yields improvement in the overall sound. The 3650 includes a treble attenuation switch for reduction of high frequency output in challenging install applications such as overly reflective rooms, allowing for a better frequency balance.
The aluminum SlimTrim grille's presence has been minimized from previous designs, and is paintable to match any décor. With its low-profile grille and speaker design, this less obtrusive, smaller footprint in-ceiling speaker is suitable for use in environments where visuals are many times as an important consideration as sound quality is. These include 2-channel home playback, in whole house audio systems, or for surround sound usage.
The speaker includes sure-grip mounting dogs, which are designed to provide even pressure against drywall for long-term installation reliability.
