A variety of Monitor controls: MultiProler allows you to control the brightness, black level and color gamut directly from the software in addition to many other settings. Changes to settings are made instantly to the monitor.

Picture Mode preset editing: Multiple picture modes can be quickly congured using MultiProler. Choose from the simplicity of built-in sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI, DICOM, REC-BT709 and High Brightness modes, or load an ICC prole for color matching an existing printer or display. In addition, MultiProler helps you create a completely custom Picture Mode conguration, including controlling the gamma characteristics, color gamut and white point.

Picture-in-Picture (PIP) conguration: The PIP modes can be completely congured directly in MultiProler, including the PIP mode, the video inputs and the Picture Mode for the second video input. This greatly simplies the management of multiple computer congurations.

DisplaySync Pro and USB hub conguration: The integrated USB hub in MultiSync PA Series monitors also can be managed through MultiProler to function as a keyboard/ video/mouse (KVM) switch. This feature maps the USB upstream ports to the various display inputs, which is useful for managing controlling computers attached to the display.

Quick print preview: Create a print preview Picture Mode for your printer by loading its ICC prole in MultiProler. The Picture-in-Picture or Picture-by-Picture function can then be used to view the print preview in real-time.

Automatic generation of ICC proles: MultiProler automatically generates and updates ICC proles as the color modes are selected or adjusted, reducing the need for a proling package to prole the monitor.

    NEC PA272W reviews

PA272W-BK-SV 27" 16:9 IPS Monitor with SpectraViewII (Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exception Monitor for Professional Image Editing NEC monitors are pro level displays at one of the best price points in the industry. I've been using 2 22 displays and upgraded my primary to the PA272W with the SpectraViewII calibration package and couldn't be happier. Having used the Spyder Elite 2/3 for the past 10 years I can say that the integrated NEC software/hardware is a superior design that (as others have said) takes full advantage of the internal hardware of the monitor. The stand and frame are also a big improvement over the older design and allow for optimal viewing setup. For long hours with Lightroom and Photoshop this is one of the best purchases you can make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate Color - Sharp Text I've installed previous versions of this display for other clients that I consulted digital imaging to, and at the time I was using the Apple Cinema Display. Now that I've joined the NEC crew I couldn't be happier. The SpectraView kit is a must have. I easily created 2 calibrations, one (Adobe RGB) for printing to my Epson 9900, and the other (sRGB) for web. I toggle as needed and all is wonderful. My prints under my Just Normlicht Color-Match 5000 viewing booth nearly match my display print calibration setting. Happy camper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch support Excellent monitor. After calibrating, my old canon i9900 printer is doing well. I had a few setup questions and found the NEC support to be superb. Before buying, I read a B&H review talking about the monitor turning off when the computer sleeps. I had this same issue and NEC support provided the fix immediately (below): Please use the buttons on the bottom right bezels to get into the menu. Go to the menu RGB tab. Once in here go to the bottom to advanced settings and press select (select is the input button). Please go over to the tab number 6. In here make sure the off timer is set to off. Also make sure the Power save timer is set to off. Also make sure the off mode is set to standard. Once these three settings are done the display should always go into standby mode and should never turn all the way off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb monitor I bought this to use as a matched secondary monitor for a PA272 I bought last year. This time I included the NEC calibration sensorhoping for more accuracy than the Spyder4 I was using with SpectraView II (which is also excellent). As with the other PA272, this one's outstanding. Gamut is almost full aRGB, ergonomics are excellent, screen uniformity is perfect (to my eye). The only niggling shortcomings I see are: - I'd prefer the USB and other ports on the back instead of bottomit's awkward to connect devices to them. - When the monitor's sleeping, it apparently turns off power to its USB ports, so you need to be careful what's plugged into them. For example, if you want to wake a Mac by hitting a keyboard key, you can't plug the keyboard into the PA272.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous monitor Beautiful graphics with unrivalled user adjustability at this price point. All reviews about vibrant colours, etc are true. Also true are IPS glow and corner brightness. I believe this is a trade-off for the contrast and colour vibrancy. For everyday use, you will not notice these flaws unless you look for them; or unless your work predominantly lies in the corners; or unless the viewer is required to view the monitor constantly from a substantial angle. Of course the technology is there to eliminate these shortcomings but at a much higher cost. If pitch black off-angle is critical to you, go for the Eizo Color Edge series. I also recommend the SpectraView and calibration device if you don't already own one. Using this monitor without calibration will be fine in the beginning as factory specs are excellent out of the box. However the specs will likely shift with time. Not having a calibrator is like wearing expensive shoes of the wrong size. Note that SpectraView does not support certain video cards (e.g. Intel HD 5000). A way around this problem is to connect the USB cable from the computer directly to the monitor. Another tip: use the display port or mini display port for best results. I give this monitor 4.5 stars due to room for improvements. Good luck with your monitor hunting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy now! This is a followup to my earlier review where the Displayport port would not provide full 2560x1440 resolution. NEC shipped me a new unit and sent me a call tag for the DOA unit. The new one works perfectly. Yay! Thanks to NEC for being so responsive. Also, I found out that pretty much all countries except Russia are ok with digital manuals. That's why NEC includes a Russian manual in the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted I had a PA271-BK-SV with over 4500 hours on it for my photography (many years of use). Accurate colors and it maintained calibration with the included NEC sensor until very recently. The only downside, is that LCD monitors just are not going to have perfect black levels, but you would not know it without reading the calibration results. (Not really critical for my Moab Entrada rag paper prints.) I looked over my options and I bought another one like the one I had before. Very happy with my choice. The extended warranty offer made it an even easier decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An outstanding high end monitor I use the NEC monitor for photography, specifically with Photoshop. It's a terrific monitor, a great replacement for my LaCie CRT monitor. Excellent picture characteristics. The monitor was easy to set up and calibrate with the included SpectraView II software and sensor. Also, I recommend buying the hood that goes with this 27 model. Inside is black plush that prevents stray light. Hood had an opening for the sensor when calibrating. The strange/funny thing about the package is that they include a manual that comes in three languages, all cyrilic alphabet based, the first being Russian. Of course there is an English language version on the internet and on the jump drive that comes with the monitor. The jump drive also contains the calibration software and SpectraView II manual.
