    TP-Link TL-WA850RE reviews

    TL-WA850RE N-300 Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from MORE BARS I live in a 2400 square foot house, I have an XBox One connected to my 84 HDTV. My Mac Pro is in my office which is in the front part of the house and the TV is in the back. I am a XBox Gold subscriber and run a wireless connection to the XBox. The XBox showed only two bars on signal strength until I purchased the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300 Mb/s Universal WIFI Range Extender. I plugged the Range Extender in half way between the computer and the XBox, getting a full 100% signal strength and increasing the WIFI connection speed from two bars and 1.04Mbps to a full four bars and 21.83Mbps connectivity. For the price of the TP-Link TL-WA850RE and the quality of the devise it has solved my game up-dating and overall connectivity. I have found absolutely no negative aspects of this devise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really only works in open areas I wanted to improve my wi-fi upstairs so tried this product. Unfortunately it is not designed to work with walls and floors blocking the main wireless router signal. It picks up the wi-fi signal when in the same room as router, and is simple to add to a wi-fi network, but once you move it upstairs or into another room, it no longer does anuything to improve the signal strength. I spoke with TLink customer service directly and they confirmed that this device is best used to improve a weak signal in a large open area, not a typical house with several floors and levels. They recommend their wireless powerline adaptor which uses the whole electrical system of a home to transmit an internet connection from your main router to a seperate wi-fi booster/transmitter you plug into a wall socket right on another floor in the home. I will return this product and try the other one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fixed my internet problem! I bought this extender after finding that my brand new Verizon FiOS router wouldn't reach beyond the halfway point of our old, 3 bedroom apartment. Something about our old, sheetrock walls blocks the signal. So, after working for a while on setting up the router/extender connection and finding a spot where 3 signal lights showed up on the extender, we now have internet throughout the apartment! Set up was a LITTLE tricky, but I managed to figure it out on my own. The connection is a LITTLE slow sometimes, but I am able to stream Netflix and upload large image files to online galleries. It gets the job done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Price is decent too. Easy to use and worked as advertised. I plugged it in an outlet next to my modem, pressed the button they wrote to press on the modem to pair it to the modem, then moved it further down in my apartment and my reception noticeably increased. (I bought another one for my Mom's house and the signal in the basement went form weak or not found to strong.) Worked well for a co-worker who had a similar problem too.
