Designed with convenience in mind, the Pioneer SP-SB23W 218W 2.1-Channel Soundbar System features a wireless subwoofer, simplifying setup and providing one less cable to hide. It also has Bluetooth built in for wireless audio streaming from your smart devices. The system provides 218W of total power from its drivers, which are powered by their own individual amplifiers. It has an optical and a stereo RCA input, and has wall mounting keyholes built-in. The system includes a remote control for added convenience.

Dedicated Power: An Amplifier for Each Speaker
Pioneer's SP-SB23W Speaker Bar is powered by six individual amplifiers - one for each independent driver. Each amplifier produces up to 28 Watts of power for increased audio dynamics and enhanced overall "headroom".
Bass Made Easy with a Wireless Subwoofer
To handle the low frequencies, the Speaker Bar system includes a wireless subwoofer featuring a 6.5" driver that's powered by a built-in 50W amplifier. The output level can be adjusted with the Speaker Bar remote.
Use Your Favorite Remote with Command Learning
The SP-SB23W system features a learning mode that lets you teach it to respond to commands from virtually any remote you choose.
Enhanced Resonance from the Curved Composite Wood Cabinet
The SP-SB23W Speaker Bar features a composite wood cabinet enclosure with a curved design, helping it resist the "flexing" that can occur when the speakers are at high volume. With its enhanced resistance to undesirable resonance, composite wood provides more faithful sound reproduction.
Easy Listening and Setup
The SP-SB23W system is designed to make set-up simple. With minimal cables to connect and an easy synchronization process, you'll be enjoying your media in just minutes.
Tailored for Your Sound
Three selectable listening modes designed specifically to optimize movies, music, and dialog.
Bluetooth
Enjoy your favorite music streamed wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet. Wireless connectivity from the subwoofer to the speaker bar allows for ideal placement within your room.

    Pioneer SP-SB23W reviews

    SP-SB23W 218W 2.1-Channel Soundbar System is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound I have been using Pioneer products for years for DJing and heard that this was just a great sounding sound bar. I could not be happier with the way this sounds and the way it looks. I am amazed by how good the quality of the sound bar is. No other sound bar that I know of is made from wood. Excellent product and value for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product They look good ... easy to install and setup. Sound good, although the Sub could do with a bit more oomph. But hey look at the price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Marital accord is a wonderful thing. My wife loves this sound bar! And she generally doesn't get excited about any audio gear I purchase. But I certainly do. I'm a working musician that does quite a bit of home recording and though you couldn't really call me an audiophile (never had the luck), I have become quite discerning when it comes to speakers and amplification. And, being discerning, I personally didn't want to go with a sound bar for our great big nice new high end TV, opting rather for a Receiver/Amplifier Home Theater system run through some high quality speakers from my home recording studio that I'm not using right now. But then when I thought about it, I don't watch anything on TV other than sports and occasional rental movies, so I was going to just leave the TV's built-in speakers be. And that most certainly, didn't work. The speakers that fired from the back of the TV toward our bedroom were making the sound louder in there than in our living room where I would be watching my ballgame. I have to watch my ballgames, and she has to get her sleep. So we looked at some sound bars which would get the speakers firing toward us and my wife was immediately taken in by the small imprint that these systems make on living room decor, particularly the ones with a hidden wireless sub woofer that would keep me from snaking, taping, or making any new holes in the wall to run wires. But then after auditioning all the sound bar systems I could find locally, I couldn't find any in this price range that I could tolerate listening to and that left me in a bit of a quandary. I just wasn't going to spend audiophile money on a sound system for watching TV. You see we did the home theatre experience thing with our old TV utilizing a dedicated surround system that cost quite a bit more than this sound bar, and like most folks, we thought it was cool at first, you know, going Wow! whenever something exploded or rumbled, but it all wore old pretty fast. As far as music was concerned, I found that system and others like it be unlistenable. And the worst thing about it for the both of us was that no matter what sound equalization we used, I was constantly turning the volume up and down so that we could hear what people were saying and not getting blown away by the music in-between, or else any part with explosions or rumbles. And that same thing was what I found wrong with all the sound bars I auditioned, they went for some kind of weird compressed reverb sound that imitated surround sound, very poorly. Well, both my wife and I were tired of surround sound anyway, so I was about to give up on finding a sound bar when I saw a review of this system that raved about how good it sounded with music and, how it lacked a bit as far as the theatre experience is concerned. That sounded like what I was looking for, so much so that having nowhere locally to audition it, I took a chance and bought it from this place with a solid reputation on returns. They gave me a month to see if I wanted to keep it. And we most definitely are. My wife would kill me if I returned it. I mean she's brought all her friends over to hear this thing and those girls are eating this system up. I'll tell ya' what they like too. They like that I was able to put it on a shelf a foot or so underneath the TV where it doesn't have to be so noticeable compared to most sound bars where in order to sound their best, they have to be siting directly in front of the television. This bar is actually curved and it comes with two little rubber feet that allow you to tilt the unit a bit up or down. And that tilt can makes a huge difference in the sound. When I first unpackaged it I thought, You gotta' be kidding! as far as the design was concerned. But no, it works, and it works well. Then, what the ladies really couldn't stop talking about was that when they watched their favorite romantic movie, there was no turning the volume up and down like they have to do with their much more expensive surround systems in order to hear what is said. And even better, the dialogue was entirely easy to understand at a very low volume. And then, my oh my, they discovered that they could play their music files from their smartphones wirelessly through this sound bar via bluetooth, and I have to tell ya', it was party on folks. Then best of all, I'm OK with the system myself. Things I really like: 1. Being able to control the sub-woofer volume with the remote. And know that as with all bottom-throw subs, placement is critical. But I'm a tweaker, I like that. Just remember that until you pair the sound bar with the sub and then find the sub's sweet spot, this unit it might not sound very good to you right out of the box. 2. The three remote control settings for voice, movie and music actually work very well for utilization with those individual medias. I really like the way spoken voice and music sound on the movie setting too. 3. The system doesn't have to be located right at ear level in front of the TV in order to sound its best. 4. While it's not a surround system, it is a dolby stereo system and I am a bit surprised to say that this works just fine for me when playing a movie. As a matter of fact, I like it better. And I was a bit worried it would stink on video game sound because of its lack of surround code reading ability, but the system's natural fullness and richness made up for it very well. 5. I actually listen to music Blu Rays and on-line concerts now with this TV. The system is most definitely, music friendly. 6. The bluetooth sounds good too and it was very easy to pair with our smartphones. 7. It gets very loud, as far as sound bar systems go. And when I crank it up all the way, there is absolutely no noticable distortion, wow, or flutter ,even when played full up for several hours. 8. You can watch TV and play music at the same time utilizing the bluetooth, just like we did with our Andrew Jones speakers and the TV turned down back in the day, makes me feel kind of young again. 8. And best of all, it is entirely audible and detailed at a very low volume. My wife doesn't come in and tell me to turn my ballgame down so that she can sleep anymore and I can even play some music in the living room late at night while I read or surf the net. Things I don't like: 1. The tiny remote, while very user friendly, it is quite easy to misplace. 2. Pairing this to my TV liked to drove me nuts folks, and I do a lot of this type of hooking up in my studio. Do yourself a big favor if you get this system. Go to the online help for the system, that is out there by the way, and don't even try to follow the instructions in the written manual. Most manuals give you too much detail that serves only to confuse, but this one doesn't give you enough. With the online instructions I got it done without too much more cursing, once I found found it that is. 3. The light on the sub-woofer blinks bright blue to tell you that it's disconnected form the bar whenever you turn the bar off. So if you set the bar to turn off with the TV, then in order to stop the light form blinking all night, which just drives my little compulsive brain nuts, you have to turn off the sub. That's what I do. You don't have to pair it again, just wait like three seconds for the bar and sub to find each other after you turn on the TV. However you can set up the pairing so that the sound bar will not turn off with the TV and I don't believe that it and the sub being on all the time will hurt anything. Then there'll be no flashing blue light. 4) To my discerning ear, the music sound is pretty good, but I kind of expected better from the reviews I read. If it weren't for the fact that my wife likes this system so much, I'd probably have utilized the return program and gone with another kind of system than a sound bar. I think it's just done its job a little too well and got me wanting to play my concert blue rays on the living room TV. I need more volume than this system provides for that. But let me say again that for a sound bar, this unit does give you a lot of db, and that's db without distortion. I also find the overall sound to be a bit tinny in the high-mids for music, which may well get better as the speakers break in. Then at low to mid volume, the system just sounds sort of boxy to me. However, when you crack this puppy up, best to go all the way, I can dig it! That was true for me with the original Andrew Jones speakers back in the day too. They wanted to be cranked. When you turned them down, you just had to turn them back up. Those Andrew Jones classics had that like you're at a rock concert sound, truly awesome. Maybe these little speakers need a hundred watt stereo amplifier form the seventies powering them, but they just don't quite live up to that old Andrew Jones experience. It's is awfully close though, especially when you consider the lower wattage, and the fact that it's running through 3 inch speakers. So for bringing a bit of marital accord into our home, I'm going with 4 stars here. My wife would definitely be a 5+ and that makes me very happy with this purchase. I'm finding that women in general really dig this sound bar. I'd be more like a 3-, and thanking the manufacturer for inspiring me to go with a high-wattage amplifier/receiver kind of system where I could choose not to use surround coding (which in my humble opinion was made for movie theaters and not watching movies on a television monitor anyway) and then amplify the heck out of some really big speakers, maybe even some current Andrew Jones models. But I have to say that there's only one sound bar system in this price range that I did not audition, in addition to several sound bars much higher in price, and this unit stands out to be far and above any of those. If you're going to go with a sound bar, this would be the one I would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pioneer Sound Bar At 36 you have to be aware of the limited TV stand selection. Other than that, it is a great soundbar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy it This soundbar sounds good for the first few months but after 6 months to a year it starts having problems, including making a loud popping sound when you turn it on with no volume. You need to turn it on and off a few times before the volume comes back on. I should have read the other reviews online since this issues seems to be frequent. When you call customer service they tell you to ship it out to California $ and they will charge an $ review fee Find another speaker bar

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best soundbar. period. Did comparative listening session on several other comparably priced bars from nakamichi, onkyo, sony ct series and more.. the pioneer was the most balanced, sweet, accurate, refined and overall pleasant to listen too.. highs were accurate and defined yet not harsh, mids were balance, well defined, clear not muddy, lows were sufficient though at times I felt like wanting more oomph..but that's personal taste I guess.. it worked very well when using quality material.. blueray, cable tv, game, ipad music were all sounded balance and nice.. staging tend to be at the center.. imaging was quite accurate specially with high quality audio.. bluetooth was no problem.. price was very very competitive for its sonic quality..no complaint for finish and material.. very pleased with the unit and excellent service from B&H..item shipped to indonesia fast and trouble free. Highly reccomended. Currently Considering the floor set and maybe add velodyne.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from best soundbar period. finally got this soundbar and very pleased with its sonic quality. It's not meant to replace a full blown multispeaker home cinema system but what it could do for the cost is amazing. The overall sound quality was balanced, refined, pleasant to listen to, highs were defined but pleasant without the ear piercing effect with many other similarly priced products though it lacks the super detail and nuances of the more high end (and more costly)floor speakers, mids were rich and clear with no muddiness though it might start to break up a bit at a very loud volume, dialog was clear and rich, music was warm and full, watching cable tv was nice (definitely nicer than tv speaker), blueray movies even better. The lows were sufficient and blends quite seamlessly with the rest though sometimes it feels we need more oomph and raw power. Bass was tight, warm, and punchy with enough power which is nice considering its small size. The sub is not floor shaking and definitely couldnt be compared to a dedicated unit like velodyne etc which cost much more, but it sounded quite nice. Bluetooth connection was fine though sometimes it took couple extra minutes before i could hear any sound coming out of it eventhough the link/pair light has been established since power on. Playing music from ipad worked well and sounded well, no dropped connection. The overall sonic experience gets way better when feeding the system with a much higher quality material. Soundstage stage bit small, tend to focus toward the center regardless volume level, sound imaging was good specially with well recorded materials. The soundbar Finish and material is good, though not luxurious or striking. Listening to dave koz/kenny g sax, diana krall's vocal, classic music collection or jeff lorber's funk selection was very pleasing. the soundbar was connected to samsung 3d tv via optical and pioneer blueray player via hdmi. Listening room is regular living room with glass window on 3 sides, not specially designed sound room, even then the unit perfomed well with no problem. HIghly reccomended. Now considering the pioneer floorstanding by andrew jones and maybe pair it a w/ a good velodyne for a good music listening system without the thousand $$. Thanks B&H for excellent and super fast service. Item arrived in Indonesia with no hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for music I use this to replace the awful speakers in my tv as well as streaming music from my laptop. It is fantastic. My wife didn't want speakers in our room, but I love listening to music without the tv on. This was a great compromise. The bluetooth gets a little wonky at times but just turning it off and back on again on the computer fixes it. It's a really minor thing for me because it just sounds so good. I also like having a separate volume control for the wireless sub
