The Quadro K6000 Graphics Card from PNY Technologies is a professional computer graphics card for applications that require or benefit from dedicated GPU processing power. It features driver and API support for Windows as well as many Linux and Solaris distributions.

Alongside the GPU, the K6000 features 12GB of DDR5 RAM and a 384-bit memory interface, which work together to move data to and from the GPU as efficiently, and with as little latency, as possible. In addition, 2880 CUDA cores (stream processors) allow the card to perform hundreds of computations simultaneously when interacting with APIs that support parallel processing.

The K6000 can be connected to a variety of display types, including computer monitors, HDTVs, broadcast video monitors, projectors, as well as 4K and 3D displays. It features a dual-link DVI-I (digital and analog) port, a dual-link DVI-D (digital only) port, and two DisplayPort ports with DP 1.2 support. Through DisplayPort in can drive displays up to 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution at up to 60 Hz and can drive digital displays through dual-link DVI at up to 2560 x 1600 resolution at up to 60 Hz. In addition, it supports professional 3D displays, and features a stereo connector that will provide synchronization for certain types of active 3D glasses.

For extended desktops, multi-view applications, immersive gaming, and other multi-monitor arrangements, up to four displays can be connected concurrently to one card. For video walls and other larger multi-display setups, up to four K6000s can be installed in one workstation, allowing a single computer to manage a total of 16 displays.

In addition to driving displays, the card features broad API support including CUDA, OpenCL, DirectX 11.2, Shader Model 5.0, and OpenGL 4.3, allowing it to provide GPU acceleration for a growing number of GPU-aware applications. Applications that benefit from GPU acceleration include video editing, 3D animation, CAD, computer modeling, cryptography, complex mathematical computations, and any other applications involving calculations that GPU architecture is more efficient at processing than the CPU. The card can be even used as a standalone parallel processing solution when installed alongside an existing graphics card.

Nvidia CUDA Technology
Allows GPU-aware applications with CUDA support to divert computationally-intensive operations such as encoding video, rendering 3D animation, or performing complex floating point calculations to the graphics card. GPU architecture can perform these calculations more efficiently, and doing so to frees up the CPU resources for other tasks
Quad-Display Support
Drive up to four displays using a single graphics card for video wall, immersive gaming, and other multi-screen applications
3D Support
Supports various 3D technologies including Nvidia 3D Vision and 3D Vision Pro. In addition, supports OpenGL quad buffering as well as stereo synchronization (via 3-pin mini-din connector) for driving various professional 3D display systems
Popular API Support
Wide API support allowing GPU-aware applications to leverage additional processing power from the card. Compatible APIs include: DirectX 11.2, Shader Model 5.0, OpenGL 4.3, CUDA C, CUDA C++, OpenCL, Java, Python, and Fortran
H.264 Encoder
Exploits GPU hardware to accelerate H.264 encoding for significantly faster than real time transcoding when using compatible GPU-aware video encoding software
Accelerated Video Decoding
Uses GPU hardware to decode MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, MVC, VC1, Divx, and Flash for higher quality and less errors compared with software-only decoding
Quadro Mosaic Technology
Designed to enable transparent scaling of the desktop and applications running on a single workstation across up to 16 displays when using four compatible Quadro GPUs working in aggregate
Quadro Sync
Provides a common reference clock to keep all displays in sync when using multiple GPUs in one workstation or GPUs distributed in a cluster
30-Bit Color
Provides up to 10 bits per RGB channel, when used with compatible display devices, allowing the card to generate billions of colors
Image Processing Features
Applies anti-aliasing and other processing filters when rendering graphics, designed to produce smoother, more realistic images, including:
  • FXAA Technology: Shader-based anti-aliasing that enables fast anti-aliasing in numerous games
  • TXAA Technology: Temporal anti-aliasing
  • Bindless Textures: Increases the number of unique textures available to shaders at run-time, designed to give richer texture detail in scenes
  • 16x angle independent anisotropic filtering
  • 16K x 16K texture and render processing
  • Transparent multisampling and super sampling
  • 32-bit per component floating point texture filtering and blending
GPU Acceleration for SDI Capture
Provides GPU accelerated processing for SDI and HD-SDI video capture when used in conjunction with a compatible Nvidia Quadro SDI capture card
Scalable Geometry Engine
Provides the framework required for users to interface interactively with complex 3D environments in CAD, DCC, medical, and other applications
Dual Copy Engines
Allows data to be sent and received simultaneously by the GPU for faster performance when using compatible applications or APIs
GPU Direct
Allows certain third-party devices such as SDI video adapters, NICs and SSDs direct access to the GPU so they can accomplish processing-intensive tasks more efficiently
Low-Noise Operation
Cooling system designed to keep operational noise level below 28db
SMX Architecture
Dedicates more space on the board to processing and less to controller circuitry compared to earlier architectures
PCI Express 3.0 x16 Support
Provides twice the bandwidth of PCI Express 2.0; for example, an x8 PCI Express 3.0 slot has the same bandwidth as a x16 PCI 2.0 slot. In addition, the card remains backward-compatible with motherboards using earlier generations of PCI Express
