The SpaceMouse Wireless 3D Mouse from 3Dconnexion is a wireless mouse designed to facilitate work with 3D software applications on a PC or Mac. Unlike a conventional mouse, which is limited to movement on two flat planes, this unit supports effortless motion in all directions. Simply push, pull, tilt, or twist the controller cap to simultaneously pan, zoom, and rotate 3D imagery on X, Y, and Z axes.

Increasing or decreasing pressure with the controller determines the speed with which the mouse responds. It is compatible with most standard 3D applications and automatically recognizes such programs already loaded on your computer, including but not limited to Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, Solid Edge, UGS NX, and a host of other CAD and DCC applications. This model includes (2) programmable function keys. When applications are pre-installed on your computer, the mouse will revert to default function configurations associated with each program.

The SpaceMouse Wireless also has a built-in rechargeable battery that lasts for up to one month in between charges. While it's charging, you can even continue working.

Push, pull, tilt, or twist the controller cap to simultaneously pan, zoom, and rotate 3D imagery on X, Y, and Z axes. 6 Degrees of Freedom (6dof) technology affords you effortless control
The amount of pressure applied to the control knob determines the speed with which it responds
2.4GHz wireless technology provides the reliability of a wired mouse without the need for cables - micro-USB receiver plugs into your PC or Mac
Built-in rechargeable battery lasts for up to one month, and the mouse can be used wired or wirelessly
Included micro-USB cable handles recharging and data at the same time so you can keep working as it charges
Mouse features a small footprint, brushed steel base, and two conveniently placed buttons
Each of the two buttons opens its own radial menu for convenient mouse-click access to four application commands

SpaceMouse Wireless 3D Mouse is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new dimension in input devices I first saw the 3D Connexion SpaceMouse on a Sketchup tutorial I found on YouTube. I was so impressed with the control of a 3D model that I ordered one right away. My first try at the mouse made me think that it was not working. It was not moving the cursor. I later realized that the SpaceMouse was not intended to replace my standard mouse, but to increase my productivity by quickly and smoothly navigating around my models while drawing with my standard mouse. I now spend many hours working on creating perfect plans for my woodworking projects. I could not be happier with my SpaceMouse.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SketchUp users take note Quality production, Basic 3D navigation is effortless. HOWEVER, currently not fully compatible with Sketchup (e.g. no camera mode, et al) Have tried fro a month to get a response from tech support. They claim that their is an answer (from global support in Germany) but just somehow can't figure out how to use email - at all, nor will they read the response over the phone. The apparently only US-based so-called tech support agent lies like a rug. I've provided 6 email address, 'whitelisted' their email address with my IP and spam filter service and 3DCX 'support' in Salt Lake lies and lies and lies. Today attempted to escalate this situation with #DCX management. Not response - ntm resolution - yet. Their promo videos wrt SketchUp are blatantly false until/unless they fix this mess and learn how to use email. PS I have no clue wrt compatibility issues with other apps.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never Ending Headache The first one I received had some sort of mechanical failure. It took weeks and weeks to get 3DC to even respond and eventually they sent a new one. New mouse doesn't act as the first one did (even on default settings), and regardless of what I do with the drivers/software, the new one will not go wireless. I absolutely loved this mouse before it quit on me, but the amount of frustrations I've encountered with such little help from 3DC, it's now a paperweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definite Upgrade from Corded SpaceMouse I normally don't write reviews, but since this is pretty new and there are very few reviews out there, I thought I'd write one. I purchased this mouse to replace the older, corded one I use for work and this thing is awesome. It's a little more expensive than the corded one, but I think the added price is well worth it. The cable on the older one started to break around the base from being creased and mushed from being tossed in my backpack numerous times. I travel a lot and am often required to do work away from the office, so the micro usb charge cable (which you can also use tethered to your computer) saves you the pain of travelling with another unique cable. This coupled with the lack of a hard corded cable makes for a very nice piece of gear. Like the previous one, the build quality is very nice and I have little fear of throwing it in my backpack and having it break (especially with the lack of cable). The one I had prior to this slid around a lot, causing slight frustration when trying to navigate larger or oddly shaped assemblies. The new one does NOT have this problem whatsoever. The unit is a bit heavier and has a nice grippy base. The other nice thing about it is that the base is more rectangular, rather than round so it's easy to spot if the mouse is in a weird orientation. I haven't had the unit for very long so I cannot comment on battery life, but I've been using it pretty regularly for about 1.5 weeks on a single charge. I'd say that's pretty good considering my Lenovo Laptop barely lasts for 1.5 hours fully charged with 50% screen brightness.PROS:+Nice heavy base, prevents it from moving around while working+Works very well and easily with Autodesk Inventor 2012 and 2014 on Windows 7+Charges and tethers with Microusb cable+Square base allows for easy adjustment during useCONS:-NONEI apologize for the typos and run on sentences. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential tool for 3D Anyone working in 3D applications that navigate 3D space needs one of these. (Check that you particular app is supported ). Not only does it give freedom to fluidly move around in any direction using one hand it still allows your other hand to use a regular mouse too...making work more efficient. It can be configured in camera mode or object mode depending on preference. You can move in, out, side to side, up and down, rotate and tilt views...all at the same time! The mouse is solid steel and heavy so does not move as you operates the knob. (The portable version which I have too isn't as heavy but is still as solid). You kinda have to use it to understand the experience but you will not be disappointed if you make the decision to get one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stunning engineering... but Mac freezes I bought this mouse for my husband to use on his MacPro Mountain Lion 10.8.5. He is trying out a trial version of Maya and I thought the Spacemouse would be cool birthday present to him. We loaded the software driver (not the one included on cd in box, but the newest from the 3Dconnexion website v10.0.14) and Mac just beach balled (kernel panic) when he rebooted after install. Rebooted in safe mode and could not see/ use the Spacemouse Wireless. One of a few 'training' apps included was seen in the applications folder which worked! It is the one where you train how to restock blocks in a cube. But, alas, nothing else worked, even Maya refrained from opening. He uninstalled the software + driver and rebooted. Mac back to normal self. Spacemouse now sits on his desk gathering dust... Still waiting for e-mail answers from 3Dconnexion support.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea... The 3D Mouse is a great idea but it's not paying off for me yet. I'm using Cinema4D and often times the viewport has trouble catching up to the subtleties of the 3dMouse. This results in overshooting my targets. Also I haven't figured out yet how to set rotation points (as you'd usually do with pointing the mouse) so long story short: it doesn't fit in my workflow yet. I still want to give it some more chances but so far I couldn't find any help online of people that figured out how to tame it for Cinema4D.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very sensitive and precise...when programs read it.. I will say for fairness up front, I've only had a couple hours to put into using and configuring it for software I'm using. So far though, where I have gotten the config set? It is VERY sensitive and precise so a little goes a long way. It is also very solid, heavy to stay put on the desk, and feels anchored in a way moving the control with just finger tips is best for some things. Excellent build quality and feel, but just a little lacking on intuitive interface for programs.
