    Bolt VS-560 reviews

VS-560N Wireless TTL Flash for Nikon is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far So good... I was looking for a TTL flash for Nikon as a backup and also had off camera capabilities to replace my SB600 that was an unfortunate casualty to corroded batteries (after being in for only about four months). Nikon flashes seemed pretty pricey, or the models being considered were rather unproven or lacking in abilities. Took a gamble on a non-Nikon, something I've never done. I'm quite pleased with the results so far, and the only reason I can't give it five stars is that it hasn't proven itself in longevity yet. It is pretty strong and does recycle quickly. The tilt and bounce work well, not too stiff. The screw down hot shoe takes getting used to. I think I prefer the lever lock of the Nikon. Also can't attest to battery life, still on my first set, though I now leave them out when not in use Good flash. So far, So good...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good flash with some weaknesses This flash has a rich feature set and is priced much lower than comparable Nikon flashes. It has a guide number of 141 (for feet) with 50 mm focus length. Also it has wireless feature and can act as wireless slave. Yet there are some shortcomings of this product. The regarge time is long and after a full power shot, it takes 9 seconds to regarge the light. The design and the build quality of the battery compartment is very poor. After I used it for a few times, the springs in the battery compartment lost their elasticity and the to make the situation worse, the space between a battery and the battery compartment is very small. The friction between the compartment and a battery makes the battery stuck in the compartment because of the low elasticity resulting from low qualty springs. I couldn't remove a battery because of this problem. In order to reduce the friction between a battery and the compartment, I had to remove the thin film coving the battery so that there is more space betwen battery and the compartment. uu

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bolt flashes are Great! I am a freelance photographer and I was looking at all the different flash brands from the in inexpensive to Nikons. When I came across Bolt Flashes. I read about them and spoke to a representative from Bolt. I was truly impressed with how easily it works with my Nikon camera. So, I bought the VS-560N Wireless TTL For Nikon. It all what I need in a flash. I am still learning the different was I can use it in portrait photography and still life uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recommended by B&H rep I chatted with a B&H rep online and he recommended the Bolt flash. I have used it several times since receiving it in Mar 2015 and so far so good. It refreshes fast enough for my needs, synch well with my Nikon D3300. It was in my price range, as I didn't want to spend more on a flash than on my camera body.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pleased Purchased as a first speedlight for a workshop. Very pleased with the unit so far. The menu is easy to use and navigate. I've been using the flash mostly off-camera with a black/white umbrella and it has been powerful enough for everything I've tried. Compared to a Nikon speedlight I used, the Bolt unit is larger and a little more clunkly, but feels solid. Would have no problem purchasing another Bolt unit in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Say cheese! I got this flash, needed something a little more affordable that would work on or off of my camera. I love the options for the price range and the ability to rotate it in pretty much any direction is a sweet feature!Definitely a great buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfectly good for light duty use This flash functions fully with my D800e, including zoom and remote flash sync. It is built in a rather slight way with a thin plastic shell but appears to be significant enough for normal use. I hesitate to test the tube and capacitor with rapid recycle (I used Nikon flashes with Quantum batteries in days of old) because I suspect it would melt something. This was a great value for my occasional use. I believe that it will continue to function well as long as I respect that it is not designed to be regularly used at its limits. It has an old school screw-down collar to secure in a hotshot. It also lacks a lock on the flash tilt or pivot. I find this refreshing but don't use large bounce attachments often. Upside is that the pivot does swing a little more than 270deg.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Flash Bought it because I couldn't afford a Nikon Flash and have been pleasantly surprised. Completely compatible with my D3300, provides a nice flash with great coverage and focal length, quick recharge and did not burn thru batteries. I love it!!
