Track fast-moving subjects and enjoy enhanced resolution with the upgraded 70-200mm f/2.8 G SSM II Lens from Sony. The standard telephoto zoom for professionals, this full-frame A-mount lens delivers exceptional quality and offers a fast and constant f/2.8 aperture for consistent exposures throughout the range. Further enhancing overall quality is the use of four extra-low dispersion elements to combat aberrations along with a Nano AR coating for limiting flare and increasing contrast. Also, it has a nine-blade circular diaphragm to help create smooth bokeh.
As a long lens commonly used for action and sports photography, this 70-200mm is equipped with a variety of tactile controls for more intuitive operation while shooting. This includes a Super Sonic wave AF Motor with a new LSI drive circuit for a 4x boost to tracking performance as well as an internal focus design that ensures the overall length does not change during use. Along with this, there are three focus holds buttons as well as an electronic focus range limiter switch for more precise focusing operation. Additionally, the lens is dust and moisture resistant and comes with a removable, rotating tripod collar.

Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G SSM II Reviews
Great lens, but expensive
I still don't understand why this lens costs almost 50% more than the version I 70-200 G did, but I've gotten some excellent photographs with it indoors in low light. Focusing on dancers in low light with my a99 has not been a problem. I just wish it cost less. When possible I use primes for indoors/low light situations, but if I need to be able to zoom I use this on one body and a 24-70 f/2.8 on another.
Awesome Lens
Sony A99 shooter with all Zeiss glass 135mm f1.8, 85mm f1.4, 24-70mm f2.8......this lens is way better than I thought it would be.Image quality is amazing! Build quality is great! Worth the money! You get what you pay for.
