Sony FA-CS1M Off-Camera Shoe for External Flash with Multi-Interface Shoe (Black)
Key Features
  • Connects Flash to Wired Control System
The black FA-CS1M Off-Camera Shoe from Sony attaches to an external flash equipped with the multi-interface shoe, and connects it to Sony's wired off-camera eTTL flash control system introduced by Minolta. This wired system provides off-camera eTTL exposure control of flash units in cases where the wireless system can't be used. The FA-CS1M gives you the 4-pin port that accepts the system's wired connector. Any external flash with the multi-interface shoe that doesn't already have this 4-pin port is compatible. The required 4-pin connector cables FA-CC1AM, FA-CS1AM and FA-EC1AM are available separately.

You would have to ask the third party manufacturer, Metz

question

Will this work with a Sony a6300 and Alien Bees B800s?
Asked by: James J.
I'm sorry to tell you that it probably will not work for you. If you want to adapt your multi-interface shoe to trigger AlienBees strobes, you will need an MIF shoe to PC adapter. These units are similar to the one you asked about but have a female PC plug to take the male plug on the cable that came with your strobes.

question

Is this what I need to connect a Sony A7ii to a Metz 54MZ-4 or is there something better?
Asked by: Anonymous
Highly unlikely. This shoe fits the Sony Multi-interface shoe and the unique-to-Sony 4-wire cord. unfortunately Sony has a policy of having unique fittings rather than industry-standard. However, I do not have a Metz 54MZ-4 flash so I can not be sure. I do know that a Contax 4-wire cord will NOT fit the Sony shoe and is more likely to be a universal standard. You might find a third party accessory shoe that does the job - best of luck.

question

I bought Sigma external ring that suppose to be compatible with my Sony Alpha a7 ii, but it's not. Can this be used to connect the external ring with my camera?
Asked by: Aleksandra G.
No. Unfortunately I cannot tell which accessory to do that, since you did not mention the full name of your flash, which should have come with the proper hotshoe connector

question

Can I use a Pocket Wizard (for Canon) attached to the top hotshoe to trigger a Canon Flash remotely? no need for TTL
Asked by: Jaime P.
I don't think you need this, since the my old Canon flash inserts directly into the a7 hotshoe and will work in manual (not TTL) mode. Hope this helps.

question

The image and description don't show the bottom of the adapter clearly. I am looking for something that will fit a standard/non-Sony cold shoe or that has a tripod/light stand type screw receiver. My interpretation is that this has a Sony multi-interface shoe on the bottom with no way to connect to a light stand or Macro ring. Is that correct?
Asked by: Peter
That is correct. The bottom has the Sony multi-interface.
