With this LE-EA3 adapter on an a6300, and with a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM (Sony A-Mount of course) mounted on the adapter, would I get autofocus? The Sigma has an internal autofocus motor; it's not screw-driven.
Asked by: Greg
Hello, B&H sells two adapters that let you put A mount lenses on E mount camera body. One of them (LE-EA 3) has a motor that will drive autofocus. The Sigma 17-50mm lens is a autofocus lens, so the two paired together will do autofocus. Now if you pair the LE-EA3 with a manual lens, to my knowledge you will not have autofocus. Hope this helps.

Asked by: Manuel
Yes, the Sony A-Mount to E-Mount Lens Adapter is compatible for use on the Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera, and would be compatible for use with both full-frame and APS-C A-mount lenses.

Will this LAEA3 adapter cause a vignette when ...

Will this LAEA3 adapter cause a vignette when mounting the Sony DT 55-300mm lens to the Sony A7ii? I previously purchased a much cheaper adapter and my photos have a vignette, I'm hoping it's the adapter and not the lens.
Asked by: Olivia
The Sony DT 55-300mm lens is an APS-C format lens and has a smaller image circle than a full frame lens. There is vignetting because of the lens.

IS it true that this adapter is enough for using ...

IS it true that this adapter is enough for using the 50mm Planar T SSM on a sony A7 III? will the auto focus work fine for photo and video? will i have any drawbacks for using it?
Asked by: Carlos
I can't remember if Ssm is the autofocus motor or not. if it is it will work fine but it might hunt in lowlight. I use my adapter for my Tamron 150 to 600 and the lens focuses fine in the daytime but I haven't gotten a chance to track birds in flight with it yet. If you really depend on fast, reliable autofocus then I'd go with the e mount 50mm from Zeiss or the cheap Sony 50 if you don't need 1.4

question

Will this work on my Sony Nex 7 camera, which is the mirrorless, APS-C sensor camera and not full frame?2. I plan to buy the Sony 55-300 mm Af lens and to attach it to my Nex 7 camera via this adapter.3. With this combination will I get Autofocus, any aperture and anyone of 3 modes of exposure? Thank you.
Asked by: Anonymous
The LA-EA3 is compatible with the NEX-7. This adapter can be used with any E-mount camera regardless of sensor size. It does have an aperture mechanism to support auto exposure, so you can shoot in full manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, and auto. With this adapter, Sony SSM and SAM lenses will retain autofocus for still shots. So, the 55-300mm lens would autofocus with the LA-EA3.
