Du-Bro DUB499 reviews

Tru-Spin Prop Balancer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Meh It seems like it would work but I can't seem to get an accurate reading balancing my phantom 2 vision props. This is due to the threading and I can't find any threaded rod that isn't warped. I guess I can't give a bad review based on using it for something it wasn't intended for thus I give 4 stars based on it being a sturdy and interesting product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! probably the best balancing device. Here's a tip for getting even better results. Engineers know the difference between static and dynamic coefficients of friction and why. To improve your results, gently tap the base of the TruSpin or the table top near it. This will cause a minute vibration at the points of contact with the beam, lowering the resistance to turning even further. You can prove this yourself by sticking a 1 inch piece of Scotch tape to the bar. It may not move fron the horizontal, but tapping will cause it to drop immediately.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Prop balancer Will not work for phantom 2 props. The balancing bar won't go through the prop. There is no hole in the prop to allow the bar to go through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Du-Bro499 Prop Balancer Used to balance 5030 props for ZMR250 Quadcopter.Balanced Genfan and No name props from China. Very simple to use. Mount the prop on the shaft, install spring, washer and rubber hose/retainer. Install on fixture and watch prop movement. I used 80 grit sand paper to sand the backside of the heavy side of the prop until you can manually move the prop to any position and have it stay in that position. Balanced about 40 props in 1.5 hours while watching TV. Once you get the hang of it, it only takes minutes to balance a prop. Very satisfied and the quadcopter now runs very smooth!B&H price was one of lowest and shipping was very reasonable $$. Only complaint was they use a third party shipping company that transfers the package to USPS. This delays delivery by two days.I've purchased from B&H before and can say they are an excellent company to purcahse from!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as I expected When I opened the pack it looked like a quality balancer but to my dissapointment Du-Bro's quality department had let me down. The threads on the knurled nuts that adjust vertical support shafts were slightly undersize preventing then screwing on. Fortunately I had a tap to remedy this but I'm guessing most people wouldn't. After fixing this it worked perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for all props>> This prop balancer should come with an extra balance rod that is threaded on each end that has clockwise threads on one end and counterclockwise threads on other end so it can accommodate props for DJI Phantom quadcopters. Other than that, it seems to be a well manufactured balancing tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Adaptable Setup I like the stand and worked very well for balancing my Phantom Props. The thing is, I had to purchase the balancing shaft for these props separately. The kit did what I expected. Took a video of my Kitten Helping - hope it's allowed. https://goo.gl/photos/jEjx9mWctwXQ3B716

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile balancer Although the balancer was made for model planes, when used with the appropriate balancing rod (purchased separately) it works well to balance the props on the 3DR Solo quadcopter.
