  • 1Description

The Padded Carrying Case from Leica is for their Traveller Carbon Fiber tripod. It features a removable padded shoulder strap that is fully adjustable, as well as two top carrying handles that are held together with a double snap closure. Reinforced x-pattern stitching provides extra strength where the straps are connected to the bag. A subtle black Leica emblem is stitched onto the side of the bag.

Padded Carrying Case for Traveller Tripod is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits as a Glove I use the Leica Padded Carrying Case as it was intended to be used - to carry my Leica Traveler Tripod and Leica Ball Head 38 in it. And, yes, I do confirm that both, the Tripod and the Ball Head 38 fit the Padded Carrying Case NICELY (when the Ball Head is on the Tripod and the center column is retracted all the way, then the legs of the tripod come around all the knobs of the Head (that German Ingenuity!) and the Case covers them both as a glove. I personally don't like snap closures on top handle but, frankly, it is a personal preference (and I can cut them off any time) The shoulder strap is GREAT (first of all, both carbines (clevises, or whatever you call them) have a swivel mechanism and so the strap never tangles, NEVER), and second, the rings are stitched to the padded case on the diagonally opposite side that so the strap lays on (or over) your shoulder PERFECTLY. I wish the Leica logo was in RED, but then, again, this is personal preference and it is in fashion nowadays to have it dimmed. The zipper size is HUGE and so it's rather unlikely to get stack any time within the life time of the padded case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite a good case, and tailored to the Traveller tripod I bought this case for my Leica Traveller tripod. I've owned the tripod for over a year, and have grown to love it for its performance, size and weight. I finally decided it needed a proper case instead of being tossed in my big Patagonia wheelie bag, and checked. The quality is what you'd expect from Leica. You might say, a bag is a bag, but this one is made of heavy cloth (nylon?), is very well-padded, and includes a removable shoulder strap. It really is a cut above the typical tripod bag. And of course it's tailor-made to fit the Traveller tripod. As nit-picking skeptic, I can always find something negative to say about any product (especially expensive ones). That said, here's my 2 cents worth: I would like to have seen a provision for a tripod head incorporated in the design of this bag. Tripods are mostly useless without a head, and it makes sense to me that a tripod bag would include some provision for carrying the head along for the ride. Nevertheless, I don't feel that should detract from my rating, so I'm sticking with 5 stars.
