Enhanced and expanded security monitoring capabilities are at your fingertips with the RM-9 Recording Software's ability to manage multiple cameras in various locations simultaneously from a single monitoring center or security station.
With the RM Viewer, a single screen will display the output of all the cameras under control. The RM-9 Recorder allows you to record and access stored video taken from up to 9 security cameras on your network. Since you would store, manage, and access video via a computer, archiving and playback is easy. The software incorporates an improved interface for PTZ control, multiple monitor support, dynamic layouts, easy camera search, and multiple viewer client support. You can build a robust, comprehensive system for security monitoring, recording, and reviewing with a combination of the RM Recording Software and the full range of Canon network video cameras.

A customizable viewing area allows the user the flexibility to display all that needs to be seen. You can view video from any of the cameras on the network. All registered cameras on your network are grouped into location and zone. Thumbnails of the video stream are displayed at the top of the screen based on the location and zone selected. These images can be dragged and dropped onto the viewing area, and changed to any size.
Variable Display Size
When using the SXGA monitor, a maximum of 32 screens of live and recorded images can be displayed or played back simultaneously.
Full Screen Function
The Full Screen function allows you to enlarge the viewer layout to full screen. In addition, the timeline and camera selector areas can be hidden when the maximum viewing area is necessary.
View Live and Recorded Video
Review pre-recorded video while simultaneously maintaining surveillance of live cameras. Video can be seen from a single location at different times, or playback can be synchronized with other cameras.
Automatically displays video on the camera when motion detection or a sensory event occurs. This prevents important scenes from being overlooked.
A status bar at the bottom of the screen displays the total frame rate, CPU, number of video windows in the layout, and current display event.
Multiple Client Support
The RM software will support up to 6 simultaneous RM Viewer clients connected to a central storage server.
The RM software allows you to setup different layouts of cameras with a tab layout feature for easier switching between camera layouts. You may also use the auto switch feature to display those layouts at set intervals. This is a useful function for efficiently checking videos on multiple cameras.
An enhancement with the RM software is the addition of Dynamic Layouts. In this setting, layouts may be set to automatically display only those cameras that meet preset criteria such as Video Analytics events, including status change, external trigger sensor reaction, and so on. Layouts can also be shared with different users.
Improved PTZ Camera Control
The RM software allows a new level of control over each of the cameras on a network. You can easily control the camera directly from the live video window.
In addition, you can control the zoom via a mouse scroll wheel or zoom overlay and you can center the camera's view simply by clicking on the area of the live camera view you choose. Make finely tuned adjustments to the focus method and the pan/tilt/zoom speed is easy with the convenient camera control panel located next to each camera window. In addition, the control panel can be used to set cameras to react quickly to difficult, low-light conditions by activating the Night Mode. Settings for exposure, white balance, and smart shade control can also be adjusted to optimize the video capturing environment.
Multiple Recording Modes
A variety of recording modes match any requirement to ensure that the cameras are recording when they are needed. Cameras can be set to record continuously or special schedules can be set up for holidays and out-of-the-ordinary events that have different requirements. In addition to the basic modes (Continuous and Scheduled), the RM Software supports the video analytics of the Canon 1.3 Mp network cameras in the following modes: Motion Detection, Camera Tampering Detection, Removed Object Detection, Abandoned Object Detection, Volume Level Detection.
Cameras can also be set to record by sensor event or motion detection for scheduled periods.
With the RM Recording Software, you can record based on a customized trigger from third party software on an external device. The remote trigger transmits a command to the storage server specifying 9 parameters for Camera, Recording Time (seconds), Frame Rate, Image Size, PTZ Camera Angle, Backlight Compensation, Night Mode, Event Priority, and Event Name.
For any Canon network camera without built-in motion detection, the RM Software allows you to select the area within the recorded video where motion is to be detected. The Motion Detection settings also allow you to adjust the frame rate of the video collection from a lower setting for continuous recording to a higher, more fluid setting for motion-triggered recording. Other devices providing light or sound at the surveillance site may also be triggered by the motion detected on a monitored camera. The software can use in-camera/server-side motion detection as well.
Customized Recording Options
The RM Software allows for a variety of recording options. Cameras can be set to record continuously, on motion detection, or even on a sensory event. Video can be recorded in either M-JPEG or MPEG-4 or H.264 formats, at a frame rate as high as 30 fps. Recording in M-JPEG format ensures that every frame is a complete picture, free of any image degradation. Recording in MPEG-4 and H.264 format saves disk space by decreasing the size of the video files stored. The camera can also be set to record while a preset tour is running and even change settings for exposure based on the camera site. Depending on the camera servers installed, the resolution of the video being recorded can be set to 1280 x 960, 640 x 480, 320 x 240, or 160 x 120 pixels.
Video / Audio Retrieval and Playback
Video and audio may be retrieved quickly and easily in a variety of ways through the RM Software. You can search and display archived video via the following functions:
Timeline usability makes it simple to quickly and accurately review stored footage at a glance. You can easily scroll through the timeline to find and select events for viewing. Simultaneous viewing of both live and recorded video allows you to review recorded video while maintaining live surveillance. It is also possible to play back multiple videos from multiple cameras at the same time. This is particularly useful when you need to detect differences from varying time periods, and when confirming multiple video sources.
Specific events such as motion detection can be searched for and played back. Other search variables include camera location, priority, description, date, and time of event.
Jump to Time
Recorded video can be quickly played back by specifying the time and date the video was captured.
Live Events Log
The Live Events Log can quickly be accessed to look through a list of recorded events catalogued in the Live Events window.
This feature saves recorded video quickly to a file. You can specify the time slot of the recorded video and save up to 1 hour of recorded video in QuickTime format. Date and time stamps are included in the video. You may also extract video by highlighting an area on the video timeline.
You can take snapshots of the images displayed in the video window. Date and time stamps are put in the images. With all of these options, the RM Software is a powerful way to find the video you need when time is critical.
The RM Software allows you to send and receive live audio to and from the camera site. While using the RM Viewer, you can listen in on the camera site, make announcements to that location, or do both at the same time.
In addition, recorded audio files can be played at the camera site manually or by a triggered sensory event such as motion detection.
Audio recording from the camera site can also be done, and the audio recorded will be embedded in the recorded video.
User Control Access
Administrators can create custom user groups and assign permissions for the members of that group. Designated members may access the Viewer to perform camera server setup, set recording schedules, and viewer setup. User names and passwords ensure controlled access to your network system. The administrator can also limit access to certain storage servers and layout views. With the RM Software, all is under your control.
