The thick skin provides added protection and ridges molded into the skin allow for a better grip. All controls are molded over and around to maintain all functions. The skin is perfectly molded around the lens mount to provide the maximum amount of coverage while still allowing for quick lens changes. It is made from powder-infused silicone that provides a smooth rather than tacky feel and won't collect lint or debris. There are two plastic covers that protect the LCD against damage. Snug-It Pro Skin Camera Protector for the Canon EOS 70D is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snug-It Love the snug-it, this is my second, also on my T4i. Offers a very inexpensive but expansive layer of protection for your investment. Feels and looks great and I feel better knowing that a few raindrops will not cause harm, acts as a shock absorb, and no fingerprints are left on my camera. Get one, you will not be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good protection I liked the way it was designed for the 60D better than for the 70D. On the 60D, the thumb wheel was partially covered but for the 70D it's basicly a circle cutout which is making the skin covered area over the play button stick out. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for that. Also expect some slight bulging if you try to use this with a battery grip. But it does the job of protecting your camera from nicks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snug Fit I had a snug-it skin for my 60D, which worked really well for a long time. When I upgraded to the 70D, I knew that this is something I needed. Because I own a BlackRapid Sport strap, my camera hangs to the side of my hip. The skin protects my camera's body from small bumps and nicks when I go on some pretty strenuous hikes. Highly recommend the skin if you're an active person.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Compromises usability too much for me... The fit of this is very good with the exception of the focus point selection button next to the shutter button, which sticks when pressed. It smooths around the eyepiece rubber nicely and fits into the hot shoe. The buttons have crisp text labels. The top buttons lose some feedback, but still work okay with the exception of the focus selection, which sticks, and the shutter button, which looses too much feedback if you rely on a half-press. The rear buttons lose most feedback, and are not easy to use at all. I use the AF On button all the time and it makes this button a pain to use with zero feedback. You cannot use any hot shoe mounted items with this - folding back the hot shoe cover will obstruct the eyepiece. I use the GPS on the hot shoe so this won't work at all for me. The cover comes with two perfectly-cut LCD screen protectors which work very nicely. Although it does add limited protection against scrapes, there are so many parts that are still exposed that I see no benefit with using it in the field. Add to that the reduction in button feedback and the inability to use the hot shoe and I just could not recommend this case to anyone. I give it two stars because it does what it says, it's just not something that would likely be useful to anyone who uses the camera.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Anti-climatic I bought this for a new 70D. I mean, it is what it is, a chunk of silicon rubber to fit around camera body. I do not regret getting it, but I guess I was expecting just a little more out of it. My main reason for buying this was for some added outdoor protection, treking through the woods and the like. Pros: - Easy to install over camera, and in fact, it is easy enough to get on and off, you don't feel you have to leave it on 24/7. I pop it off unless I am going to be out hiking / shooting outdoors / etc. - It might add a small layer of water resistance around button openings, but I would not plan on standing in rain thinking you are waterproof with this. - Protects against scuffs, scratches, etc. - It appears to be durable. - Alignment with buttons & cut-outs & openings are spot-on. Cons: - I was shocked how slippery it is. I was really hoping for *more* grip, not less. I have crazy-dry hands, and the camera skin really seems to reduce friction with my hands rather than increase it, as I was anticipating. It does have some knurled patches on it, but not enough for my liking. REALLY smooth to hold. - While it seems to be slippery and repel my hands, dust & dog hair (2 white dogs @ home) stick to it without mercy. A few puffs of canned air needed to remove. - My comment about being easy to put on / take off of the camera will be negated if you use a camera strap attached to the strap mounts. I use a tripod mount sling strap, so no issues, but it would likely prove maddening to have to take straps off every time I wanted to remove the skin. Or I would end up just leaving it on all the time. - There was an ever-so-slight defect at the AF Point Selection button on the skin (i am guessing it was just my copy of the skin, not sure though). If I pressed the button, the skin held it down and would not let the button come back up. However, after about a week of pressing and rubbing the skin there little, it works fine w/ no more issues. - It is not as tight as I thought it would be, there is a little give and slipage to it. - Lastly, it smells funny, and masks that great new-camera smell. It is like putting a wet dog in a new car. All in all, I am okay with the skin, not sure if I would buy another one, and not sure if it useful in all situations. I think if I were in a studio all day, or just shooting the kids around the house, I would find this product useless. Out in the field, I do not see it hurting at all to have it.
