Follow up review - Can be easily fixed

As posted before I have had 2 of these both fail. I finally got around to opening them up and see they both had the same failure point.  The good news is that both were fixed with no need for parts. A solder point on the mains in had blown in both which was simply fixed with a soldering iron and a small amount of solder. To open up simply unplug from mains while plugged into a battery to drain any residual power from capacitors for safety. Lift the 2 rubber feet at the bottom of the charger towards the mains in end. Unscrew two screws and then using a little force and maybe a small flathead screw driver you can open it up. If you have the same issue I had with both you will see one of the main solder points for power is blown.

I've now had both of my Profoto 2,8 Amp chargers die. Fo the price they are not up t scratch. I still have broncolor gear from decades ago going strong. Profoto make good gear, but here is a serious reliability issue.

CHARGER FAILS

Chargers fail and eventually stop charging. Ive had to purchase two of these to replace my original chargers. Seems like they only last a year or so. Ridiculous.

Works as expected

I only gave it four stars because my old one broke without getting bumped around. Lke several other people have mentioned this is not a really durable item. It got to the point where I had to hit the old one hard on the side to get the old one to charge. Figured it was a loose connection. Profoto makes great strobes but their accessories, like the hot shoe flash remote can be pretty flimsy

Small enough to fit in a portable lighting kit

This charger works as advertised, and is small enough to fit in a portable lighting kit. Since Profoto's two-light B-1X travel kit only included one charger, this additional one is a must for the ability to charge two batteries at once.

I bought B2 AirTTL last year and never used it. I opened the box and tried to charge the battery using 2.8A which comes in the kit. Whenever I plug in, I can see the power light is ON but Battery is not charging. I tried on both the batteries and none of them got charged. Any idea or suggestions?

Thanks Michael! I tried changing the cable and no luck. I left the battery to charge for 6 hours of so and still no luck. I reached out to Profoto and they have asked me to send the batteries back to them. Let's see if this is battery issue or the charger. Never expected to this with brand new unit.
