    Watson DMW-BLG10 reviews

    DMW-BLG10 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.2V, 930mAh) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good When these were new, they seemed to last nearly as long as Lumix batteries (in a GX7, shooting mostly with the EVF and rarely using flash). The only difference was that the Lumix batteries would lose charge slowly, so the camera's battery meter would show three, then two, then one bar before it lost power. When the Watson batteries show two bars, they are almost dead. After 2+ years and around 10,000 shots each, the Lumix batteries are holding up, but the Watson batteries seem like they need replacing much more often. This is just an impression from everyday shooting; I haven't set up a head-to-head test or tried to count shots. They're still a good deal for the price, you just have to pay more attention to them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great, dies fast This is a fine little battery. It charges with the Panasonic charger and registers on the camera's battery indicator. The only drawback is that the charge indicator stays at full charge for most of its life, then goes to half power and the battery dies within a few shots. It's best to keep close tabs on the charge level and replace when you can, rather than to try and eke out the last shot of the charge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would have prefered the Panasonic I have had problems with the longevity of third party LI-ion batteries in the past so I have a strong preference for the batteries sourced from the camera makers. I bought this battery for use in my Panasonic Lumix GF6 and GX7 cameras. I would have purchased the Panasonic DMW-BLG10, but for some reason, Panasonic doesn't seem to be able to get them to the US. They always seem to be out of stock everywhere I've checked. In the short term this battery charges quickly and seems to last as long in my GX7 as the BLG10 that came with the camera. We'll see how it does as it ages.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comparison to Lumix battery I counted the shots per battery by taking a picture of my feet every time I changed batteries. (Pretty clever, huh?) I ran each battery from full charge to none a couple of times; here are the results: after 2+ years and about 10,000 shots per battery, my Lumix battery is hanging in there at 200+ shots per charge; one of the Watson batteries is about the same, and the other died during the testing. (I think that battery had been going out for a while, leading me to the (correct) impression that the Watson batteries weren't holding up, which lead to my doing the count in the first place.) Almost all of this was taking still pictures, rarely using flash or shooting movies; the big variable was how long the camera was on, running the back panel display or the EVF between shots. There's no easy way to account for this that doesn't take attention away from shooting - which is the whole point, so I haven't tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works well I'm using this as a backup for my Panasonic GX7. It's hard to compare this battery to the Panasonic battery--- too many variables in actual usage. But it seems to last almost as long as the Panasonic, and it costs half as much. Works fine with the Panasonic charger.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked a couple of times, then died I bought this item based on price. After the 3rd charge it completely died. Not a very good product and would not recommend purchasing this item especially if you are north of the border like me. The thought of even trying to return or exchange this itemis not worth the effort.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Junk I bought the Watson Battery and it will not recharge, I had one use and that was it. I have bought a lot of great product over the years but for the 1st time I have to say I am extremely disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable Alternative A fraction of the cost of an OEM battery, yet I have never had a problem with a Watson in any of my photo systems. A good recommendation.
