The black Moogerfooger MF-102 Ring Modulator from Moog features a ring modulator, a voltage-controlled carrier oscillator, and a voltage-controlled dual-waveform LFO. It accepts input from both instrument- and line-level sources and produces sum and difference frequencies between the audio input and its carrier oscillator. The output can be further manipulated by using the on-board LFO to modulate the assignable carrier frequency.
The pedal can create effects ranging from tremolo to distortion to sweeps, gongs, and dive-bomb style sounds. Its front-panel controls allow you to adjust the LFO rate and amount, carrier frequency, and signal mix. Each parameter can be controlled with an optional expression pedal via the MF-102's 1/4" inputs.
