The black Moogerfooger MF-103 12-Stage Phaser from Moog is a 6-or 12-stage phaser that can be used with either instrument- or line-level sources. Its parameters for the sweep frequency, resonance, LFO rate, and LFO amount can be controlled via the pedal's knobs, external control voltage, or optional expression pedals. A variable feedback circuit can be used to increase resonance.
The phaser creates a frequency response with several dips and peaks that sweeps back and forth over the frequency spectrum, creating effects ranging from classic phaser whooshes to swirling and vibrating sounds. The 6-stage phaser produces 3 dips while the 12-stage creates 6, providing different sonic qualities. Thanks to the MF-103's design, it can be used as a pedalboard or tabletop effect.
