The black, redesigned MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod from Manfrotto builds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor. When the three leg sections and center column are fully extended, the tripod reaches a maximum height of 63", and its load capacity of 15.4 lb makes it a good choice for larger cameras. The tripod weighs 3.5 lb, and folds down to 24" for transport.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190CXPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

Fast Setup with QPL
The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.
90° Column
One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.
Easy Link Plug
The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.
Rotating Leveling Bubble
The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.
Leg Angle Selectors
Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.

Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Reviews

Manfrotto, fix your fliplocks!

By Jim

For reasons incomprehensible to me, Manfrotto designed, reviewed and approved for production what is almost certainly the worst fliplocks to ever find their way onto a tripod. There are two issues. First, the back portion of the lever which extends beyond the pivot point can and will bite you in the hand. Not once, or twice, but repeatedly. At a minimum you will be bruised, but you're likely to bleed as well. It will not be a playful nibble, but a full on it's gonna hurt chomp. In any case you will never forget the injury and you will be mistrustful of your tripod forever afterwards. To add insult to injury the lever extension is completely unnecessary, it appears it's only function is to pinch one's hand, and the previous levers that worked perfectly ended at the pivot point where they could do no harm. Next, the excessively large levers can easily catch on clothing and open, collapsing the leg they previously locked and dropping your expensive gear on the ground. I have firsthand experience, and it's very unpleasant. Again, the much more compact previous levers were far less likely to catch and in my case never did so. I suspect the newest levers are a stying exercise; eye catching and flashy. Well, from a functional perspective they are a complete and utter disaster. I expect that once word of this engineering debacle gets back to the right people at Manfrotto this latest experiment in industrial fashion will be unceremoniously dumped and the perpetrators responsible scolded. For the sake of Manfrotto and its customers it can't happen too soon!

Solid and easy to use!

I have gone through a lot of tripods because previously I bought cheap ones. I nearly wrecked my camera after one of these cheap tripods broke apart. I have no concerns with this tripod, as it is well built, sturdy, and easy to use. I look forward to using this for years to come!

I got this to reduced the combined weight with a 502 head. I still wanted something solid enough to hold my Sony FX6. Definitely delivered on both of my needs

Undoubtedly the worst product I've ever owned

I have been a professional photographer for 30 years and owned a number of tripods. I have the older Manfrotto O55 but decided to go lighter so bought the 190CXPRO3 and Manfrotto 327RC2 Ball Head. I have had nothing but issues from the start. The ball head only has a mechanism for adjusting the friction but you if you adjust it to the level that the camera does not flop about the friction is so high you can't freely move the mechanism. I'm not even using a heavy camera or lens. Absolutely useless piece of equipment. I thought I'd have more luck with the MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod but also a piece of rubbish. Within the first week of owning it the Assembly Brush Set which is the thing that stops the legs from coming all the way out broke. Manfrotto said they would fix it but I would need to send it to them and be without it for 5-6weeks so I ordered the spare part directly and had a authorized technician install it. This time it lasted 3 weeks. Monfrotto used to be the gold standard but lately it's gone to hell. Really consider if this tripod is for you.

The tripod you want for traveling

One of the better carbon fiber tripods with worth your buck. Have an old aluminum Manfrotto tripod that I have used for years. Thing is built like a tank. Needed something lighter for long distance hiking. This tripod fit the description. Light and sturdy enough to hold my D850 with battery grip and 70-200mm lens. Only reason for 4 stars was the lower leg will not extend out without some help pulling it out. Upper leg extends out automatically.

can you change center colume for a short one?

I don't believe so (but do not hold me to it). I love my tripod -- this model which is on the lighter weight side -- and use it regularly with a Kowa 880. Not sure why you'd want to shorten the center column. I find it useful to carry the rig (with scope attached) by raising the column perhaps 6 inches and grasping the column. It seems to quite nicely balance the entire set up. Hope this helps.

Can I use a wimberly side kick with this?
Asked by: Pete
The Wimberley Arca Sidekick Ball to Gimbal Head Adapter needs to be used on a ball head that has an Arca-style quick-release clamp. The Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod does not include a ball head. You could add the Oben BC-166 Ball Head to the tripod then they could use the Wimberley Arca Sidekick. will the manfrotto 128lp video head fit the screw head on this tripod? thanks..dennis

Yes, as both items use the standard 3/8 -16 tripod screw and terminal, the Manfrotto 128LP Micro Fluid Head would be compatible for use with the Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod.
