The Pitchblack Pro Rackmount Tuner from Korg is a 1-unit rackmountable tuner with a 3D-style meter and three selectable display modes. While it is designed for rackmount use, its 49mm depth allows it to be used on pedalboards as well. It has both front- and rear-panel 1/4" inputs, a mute function for silent tuning, and a built-in cable tester to help you identify broken cables. The tuner's output is buffered, allowing you to keep the tuner in your signal chain without it altering your tone or changing the quality of your audio. The necessary hardware to rackmount the Pitchblack Pro is included.

Three Meter Display Modes
  • Regular: As when using a needle-type meter tuner, tune the string so that the LED in the center of the meter is lit up. The illuminated LED will move to the right if the string is sharp, or toward the left if the string is flat
  • Strobe: Tune the string so that the LED meter illumination stops flowing. The meter illumination will flow from left to right if the string is sharp or from right to left if the string is flat
  • Half-Strobe: Tune the string so that the LED meter illumination stops flowing and only the center LED is lit up. The right side of the LED meter strobes if the string is sharp; the left side strobes if the string is flat. When the pitch is correct, only the center LED will be lit up

Pitchblack Pro Rackmount Tuner is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best tuners out there! I don't have a rack for it, but I still use it because a good tuner is hard to find. Large and easy to read (necessary for onstage work), and the foot switch capability is a must for on stage use. Any floor switch with a 1/4 inch phone plug will work, though I made my own since most foot switches are not that durable; easy to make in a small steel or aluminum case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every cent!!! I absolutely love this tuner. I have it mounted on my desk in my studio. Not only does it look great, but I used it all the time! Completely worth every dollar. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for quick, convenient, accurate tuning... If you're looking for something like this for a church, studio, touring band, etc. it's perfect for any of those.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed This is a GREAT looking display. Doesn't look like any other tuner I've owned the past 30+ years. Love the 3 options for viewing the read out. The cable tester is a nice touch too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Purchased through B&H Photo on sale over 25% less than the best online price. The place is notorious for serious deals. I give them 5 stars. However, the Korg rackmount tuner is another story. First, while it does not have to be rackmounted, you will definitely want to. It is built of super lightweight plastic, which is perfect for the rack, keeping it as light as possible is the idea since the rack acts as the protection. There are three displays, standard, half strobe and full strobe. Full looks cool but isn't too friendly. I tuned my bass and easily found low B, tuned it to A still minimal effort. But I checked it with a boss tuner and I was slightly off. Easy to rackmount and it is small so plenty of room left in the 1u space for cords. Overall, could use a bit of a rehaul, the strobe could be setup better, the accuracy I still need to check using a third tuner, build is lightweight which is awesome, but can break easily outside of a rack. The mounting setup is plastic as well, which could break if it gets bumped with something too hard. Great to tune on the fly and has mute for silent tuning. You can leave the tuner on and enjoy the strobe, but play too fast and it has to process and no strobe while processing.
