Hoya ProND64 overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 77mm ProND64 Filter is a solid neutral density filter that enables a 6-stop increase in exposure. This 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

This filter employs Hoya's metallic ACCU-ND coating on both sides of the substrate to create the neutral density effect and ensure maintained color neutrality between filter grades. It is constructed from high-quality clear optical glass for notable image clarity and is set within a durable one-piece aluminum filter ring.

1.8 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 6-stop reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Metallic ACCU-ND coating ensures color accuracy and consistency between different ProND filter grades.
One-piece aluminum ring adds durability and rigidity for assured use and helps to prevent filter jamming.
Constructed from clear optical glass for maintained image clarity.

Hoya ProND64 reviews

77mm ProND64 Filter is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Glass Works great! Helps add motion to photos that could otherwise be quite boring.High quality filter as you would expect from Hoya. A neutral color balance with the ACCU-ND technology in the Hoya PRO ND filters; no noticeable color-cast. Along with Hoya's exclusive clear optical glass you cant go wrong with the PRO ND filters and Hoya has been the worlds largest maker of optical glass for quite some time I've heard.I'm very happy with the Hoya PRO ND's. I have the PRO ND64 and the PRO ND1000 77mm and will order the PRO ND8 to finish my Hoya ND collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hoya ProND64 This and the Hoya UV&IR Cut filter were essential for use with my Blackmagic Pocket on a recent trip to Patagonia. I researched a variety of options prior to my trip and decided upon this and the Hoya ProND8. This filter performed wonderfully in very sunny conditions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very good until it goes bad Bought a few of the Hoya ProNDs and must say I am very satisfied with their performance. However and unfortunately this ND64 became bad after awhile, it has developed weird misty dots on the coating which turn it unusable and degrade image significantly. Seems impossible to remove/clean and since I already had the filter for over a year the warranty was no longer valid. Tried to contact Hoya and explain the situation with no help. As a note the filters were kept in a special filter pouch, the rest of the them did not developed this and are still in perfect condition, which only shows that something is wrong about this ND64 as it was treated the same as the rest. Found a few more cases like this around the web about Hoya ProNDs which went bad, so I am sure they have been reached about this issue before, yet they seem not to take responsibility for their products. Very disappointing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ND filter All of the Hoya Pro products are great. These reduce light by however many stops are listed in the product description. I have two that I use to control natural light allowing me to shoot at longer shutter speeds or lower apertures. If you are going to buy pro glass and pro bodies, you should use pro filters.
