Hoya ProND64 overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 82mm ProND64 Filter is a solid neutral density filter that enables a 6-stop increase in exposure. This 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

This filter employs Hoya's metallic ACCU-ND coating on both sides of the substrate to create the neutral density effect and ensure maintained color neutrality between filter grades. It is constructed from high-quality clear optical glass for notable image clarity and is set within a durable one-piece aluminum filter ring.

1.8 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 6-stop reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Metallic ACCU-ND coating ensures color accuracy and consistency between different ProND filter grades.
One-piece aluminum ring adds durability and rigidity for assured use and helps to prevent filter jamming.
Constructed from clear optical glass for maintained image clarity.

Hoya ProND64 reviews

82mm ProND64 Filter is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Choice!!! Excellent build quality! Great coatings! If you are a Pro you will have a set of ND's in your bag! I use this on a GoPro to give a more cinematic look! Cameras with very wide lenses don't usually do very well with Variable ND's ( you get a black X in your shot at certain densities of the rotation!) So a regular ND is needed. A must for your camera bag!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Junk I have used this thing once, about a year ago. I take good care of my filters, but I pulled this out of the bag today and found that the coating was rubbing off. The middle had bubbled up somehow, and I can see thin spots in the black coating throughout most of the filter. Never had a problem with my B+W, Rodenstock or Heliopan filters. This is inexcusable. A complete waste of money.
