Battery Failure Notification

Provides early-warning fault analysis on batteries to help enable timely preventive maintenance.

Resettable Circuit Breaker

Easy recovery from overloads; no need to replace a fuse.

LCD Display

Alpha-numeric display of system parameters and alarms.

Data-line Protection

Protection of data lines (Ethernet, coaxial and phone lines) ensures complete protection of your equipment from surges. It is very important to protect your equipment from "back door" electric surges traveling through data lines, as they can be as damaging to your equipment as surges traveling over power lines.

Battery-Protected and Surge-Only Outlets

Reserves power capacity and run time for connected equipment that require UPS battery back-up while providing surge-only protection for less critical equipment.

Cold-Start Capable

Provides temporary battery power when the utility power is out.

Hot-Swappable Batteries

Ensures clean, uninterrupted power to protected equipment while batteries are being replaced.

Disconnected Battery Notification

Warns when a battery is not available to provide backup power.

Automatic Self-Test

Periodic battery self-test ensures early detection of a battery that needs to be replaced.

Adjustable Voltage-Transfer Points

Maximizes useful battery life by widening the input voltage window or tightening the output voltage regulation.

Adjustable Voltage Sensitivity

Provides the ability to adapt the UPS for optimal performance in specific power environments or generator applications.

Transformer-Block Spaced Outlets

Protect equipment with input transformer blocks without blocking access to other receptacles.

Intelligent Battery Management

Maximizes battery performance, life, and reliability through intelligent, precision charging.

Safety-Agency Approved

Ensures the product has been tested and approved to work safely with the connected service provider equipment and within the specified environment.

Building Wiring Fault Indicator

This LED informs users of potentially dangerous wiring problems in the wall circuit.

Battery Replacement Without Tools

Enables fast battery replacement, lowering mean time to repair (MTTR).

Power Conditioning

Protects connected loads from surges, spikes, lightning, and other power disturbances.

Isolated Power Filter Banks

Eliminates electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) as a source of audio-video signal degradation.

Multiple Mounting Methods

Allows for standardization on one product for use in different environments.

Front-Access Servicing

Simplifies installation and UPS maintenance while minimizing space requirements.

Sequenced Turn On/Off

Helps power on components in the proper order to prevent speaker stress, while proper sequencing can also help manage current draw on startup to prevent unnecessary circuit breaker tripping.

LED and Display Dimmer

Adjust the unit's LED and display brightness independently of each other to suit your individual tastes and environment.

question

When power goes out will this run a sound board until someone can shut it down until power comes back on ?
Asked by: Anonymous
Short answer - probably, but poorly. Depends on what you have plugged into it as well as the sound board. For example, the Mackie DL32R (32 channel digital board) by itself uses a max of about 100 watts, the J25B can supply up to 865 watts so it would appear to be enough. You need to check the max wattage your sound board requires, as well as the voltage range required to properly work if available from the manufacturer. The issue is that the J25B does NOT provide voltage regulation so the voltage can go down to as low as 98 V or up to about 135 V before it kicks in. Most equipment can handle the 135 V, it is the 98 V brownout that can be a problem for delicate equipment and accurate sound reproduction. A much better solution would be the J35B which has full voltage regulation - anything between 98 V - 135 V into the unit is boosted/trimmed to provide a clean 110 V output to the equipment. For power failures or fluctuations outside of that range, it will take over providing clean 110 V power from it's batteries.

question

Can the unit be run successfully without the battery?
Asked by: Anonymous
The APC J25B will not function properly, if at all, if the battery is not connected. It may run sporadically, with alarms.
