Counterweight for SR-1000 (5 lb) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A necessary addition After using the Revo SR-1000 with camera and lens mounted,I found it to be front heavy even with a lightweight camera. The addition of the counterweight makes all the difference in the world. The entire rig is evenly balanced and my videos look like the camera was on a rolling tripod. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with careful placement of the rig on your shoulder. If your not careful, it can press on the trapezius and cause shoulder pain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavier than I expected Although this product did add stability while using the SR-1000 Shoulder Support Rig-in fact, I could take both hands off my camera and rig and it stayed balanced on my shoulder- I found it greatly increased my shoulder fatigue using it. Also, the angle that it sticks out from the shoulder rig made it harder to maneuver in crowded situations. This might be the perfect solution for others, but it didn't match my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Balance When the steadycam arrived in the mail, I immediately put it together and attached the counterweight. It attaches easy and still gives you the option to ALSO attach the waist strap if you so desire. I haven't tried it without the weight yet, so I can't really compare with or without the weight... but I can tell that it does indeed help balance. There were times when I could briefly let go of the steadycam altogether and it stayed balanced nicely on my shoulder (had my Canon 6D attached with 50mm lens).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heaaavy, but great to have This fits onto the SR-1000 Steady Cam. I'm glad I purchased it. Now the steady cam feels like a real piece of equipment and I can counterbalance my camera on my shoulder. I can't see having the whole setup baring down on my shoulder for long shoots without taking some breaks throughout, but it's definitely great to have on to keep the shots steady. Don't return it if you are trying to attach it to all of the screw holes on the steadycam itself. Look at the directions carefully. It works.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job Simple product... Does the job... But the holes to attach the weight are not aligned so you have to push a bit to make it fit on the sr1000

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it should Without the counterweight, my arms would easily get tired holding up my rig. With the counterweight, my shots are much less shakey and my rig can even balance on my shoulder without holding it. 5 lbs is a bit heavy for my BMPCC setup and the 2 lb Habbycam counterweight would probably be better suited for me, but I'll take the extra weight for half the price. Take note, that this weight is specifically made for the Revo SR-1000 or the Opteka CXS-1. Although those rigs look identical to the Habbycam SD Camera Shoulder Brace, the back portion of the rig where the weight attaches is not. The Revo and Opteka both have one long slot where I assume the weight attaches without any problems. As for the Habbycam, the screws for this counterweight are unfortunately spaced 1 mm too wide so it's impossible to screw in both screws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Accessory This weight should be sold as a package with the Revo. If you have a heavy camera/lense combination, as I do, this counterweight makes your life a lot eyasier. Before the weight, the shoulder mount was always front heavy and stability was a juggling act. This counterweight gives the unit stability and makes smooth pans and following a piece of cake. As far as I'm concerned this is a mandatory accessory if you want smooth video.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hefty! Essential when shooting with a heavier camera on front. Perfectly balances my 5D Mark III. Great price and it's nice that it's angled down a bit. You don't find yourself backing up into objects or people as often when shooting.
