PolarPro P1003 overview

  • 1Description

The Polar Pro Glass Polarizer fits both the Standard Housing for the GoPro HERO3+ and HERO4. This glass filter is designed to help reduce glare from reflective objects, enhance sky contrast, and improve color saturation in bright outdoor scenes.

The Polar Pro Glass Polarizer is built into a slim frame that snaps on and off over the lens port of the Underwater Housing or Skeleton Housing. It features a tether cord to help prevent accidental loss, and a scratch-resistant microfiber pouch to store it in.

Because the filter is made of glass, care should be taken when handling or storing it.

    PolarPro P1003 reviews

Glass Polarizer for GoPro Standard Housing is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bring Up the Color! Great to help reduce reflections that cause the color to wash out. If you've never used a polarizer you need to get one! During mid-day look at the leaves of a tree and watch the green pop out as you rotate the filter! Not so great is the fact the GoPro is not an SLR so you have to visually rotate the filter before placing on the camera. CAUTION: There are two versions. One for the waterproof housing, (Poloar Pro Polarizier Filter) and there is one for the Naked Frame,(Frame 2.0) Make sure you catch the subtle difference to ensure you order for your intended use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy for price! Great for to reduce exposure in your GoPro. Very useful for snow and very sunny days when glare is causing issues. Video quality is not affected. Assembling the filter is extremely easy, no fussing with screws. As with most polarizers, check out the exposure before putting it on. As a polarizer isn't always necessary. With that being said, it's a great tool for your GoPro arsenal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for beach and snow scenes Stops wash out from glare on the water or on the slopes. Increases color saturation in full sun. Press fit onto the standard waterproof housing is very snug and secure for now. Extended use and time will tell if it stays that way but excellent so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great piece of kit This filter pushes on to the original standard housing. You have to make sure you push it on completely otherwise your video/photos will have slight black around the corners. However, once on, it seems impossible to get of the case. Which you will want to do if you film inside as it gets too dark. But be strong and wiggle it off! It really brings out the colour in any footage and great for removing reflections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only 1.5 I use the product for the Hero 3+. As I have been shooting i have noticed that I haven't been able to reduce the sun glare. So one day I was in store I saw it and grabbed it up instantly. For the Skelton Housing. I like to have access to the ports to use with the Atomos Ninja Blade. Great combination. I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. If you are considering it just BUY IT. Stop wasting your time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As Advertised! This was great on a recent vacation to Vermont, for use while snowboarding. The polarizer does a great job in all but the darkest conditions to tame highlights and offer some additional headroom. My only gripe about it is some vignetting in the cornersmore evident with pictures, which end up a little wider than the video area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not rotate! This pola does not rotate - be aware of that fact. Upon testing, I thought it produced a very mild effect. OK as a full time filter for the housing in lieu of a UV I suppose. Personally, I need and am used to pola with rotation. I returned it. But may have considered it as a full time filter otherwise. 5 stars for BHphoto.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Polarizer GoPro 3+ Easy to clip on, fits sort of well but not perfect as the glass is not firmly held by the frame and hence makes a noise when moving the camera. This can lead to noises recorded by the camera while filming.
