PolarPro P1004 overview

  • 1Description

The Polar Pro Glass ND Filter features a slim, snap on/off design that fits the Standard Housing for the GoPro HERO3+ and HERO4. It will reduce exposure levels while shooting in bright environments by 3 stops, allowing you to use lower shutter speeds and retain a more natural motion blur. In addition, a slower shutter speed can help reduce the apparent effects of vibration when mounting a GoPro to an RC helicopter or vehicle.

The Glass ND Filter features a tether cord to help prevent loss, and a microfiber pouch to store it in.

    PolarPro P1004 reviews

Glass ND Filter for GoPro Standard Housing is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can Cause color shifting When shooting buildings in bright light with my quad copter and GoPro Hero 3+ it can help make the video look great, but I have also had it cause color shifting on random frames, which then pretty much makes the shot useless. I have also had it create terrible blotchy gradients in very large dark shadows, which again makes the shot useless. Be very careful when selecting this for your shots, if you're moving fast the color shifting probably wouldn't be that noticeable and the motion blur it creates is nice for smoothing out such a shot. But if you're moving slow to medium speed (1-4 mph) and shooting large walls or building/roofs it can cause color shifting. It would be nice if they sold a version that was not so dark which might help eliminate the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from To Jeffrey, yes... If the housing is the Hero3+. This filter fits securely and require some force to get dettached. No experience with an airplane at 140mph, but I think it will stay firmly in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for long exposure I bought this for my son and his GoPro Hero 4 silver. He and I have been working on long exposure and having trouble so now it is amazing! Light trails mostly right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for what I need Bought for GoPro Hero 3+. We use inside our plane to lessen propeller blade blur. It takes out about 90-95% of blur - perfect for my use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Make Your GoPro Look Pro We just started using these. Often times if you're using a gopro you are outdoors in daylight, this will give you a better looking shot in the great, bright outdoors. Fits snug, doesn't make the rig to big, I'd recommend it for however you use your gopro including timelapse, action, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good filter for GP3+ It seems to be a better filter for the GoPro 3+. I don't see much, if any, image degradation. It fits snug and I feel that it is secure and won't fall off. Will have to see how it holds up, but it seems well made. I have checked it for vignetting yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too dark! If you're using this for aerial footage, forget about it. Yeah, it will eliminate the jello and rolling shutter, but because its such a dark filter, most if not all of your videos will be grainy. Forget about using it at all for sunset and sunrise.
