Pro Gel PG12 Overview

These Colour Lite Vivid Colors Gel Filters 12 x 12" (30 x 30 cm) include 12 consistently accurate, premium quality filters, made specifically for theatrical, motion picture, television and still photographic applications.

This pack includes 12 filters that provide exotic, theatrical colors for special effects.

Color dyes are selected for their resistance to high temperatures and dissolved in special fire retardant lacquers.
The dyed lacquer is applied to extraordinary clear, dimensionally stable, polymeric film.
Color control and consistency are maintained by a computerized spectrometer capable of correcting color application to within 0.0004 grams per square meter (~10.75 sq ft).

The Elinchrom Reflector and Honeycomb Grid Set B&H # ELCGS8.25 would offer 4 grids to start with. As for gels, the Pro Gel Vivid Colors Filter Pack 12 x 12 (30.5 x 30.5 cm) B&H # PRPG12213 would be fine to add to the reflector. They can be attached by simply using gaffer's tape like the ProTapes Pro Gaffer Tape (2 x 12 yd, Black) B&H # PRGT12B.

Would these work on a 500 watt halogen light? Im worried about the heat of the ligt melting it.

The halogen lights get hot and will melt the gels. The easiest solution to your problem would be to mount the gels at a safe distance from the lights thereby retaining safety and airflow around the lights themselves. We use a separate stand and a jury-rigged system to hold the gels in place.
