The SFN6322F Dual Port 10 GbE SFP+ Server Adapter from Solarflare offers precision time synchronization along with high message rates and low latency 10G Ethernet. It accelerates time synchronization and provides enhanced application performance on a single data network and in a single PCIe slot. This adapter is suitable for environments where clock synchronization is critical, such as financial services, industrial automation, geological sciences, and telecom services.

The SFN6322F server adapter accelerates time synchronization by performing precision hardware stamping of IEEE 1588 Ethernet frames and provides low latency application acceleration. This server adapter eliminates the need for a secondary server adapter (freeing PCIe slots), while facilitating slave servers to precisely synchronize internal clocks to a network master clock.

The SFN6322F driver is compatible with SFN6122F and SFN5122F products and seamlessly interfaces to host software time synchronization solutions that utilize the standard Linux socket option SO_TIMESTAMPING, such as the TPv2 daemon, which implements the IEEE1588 time synchronization protocol. The driver interfaces to kernels that predate SO_TIMESTAMPING are also available.

Precision Time Synchronization
The SFN6322F server adapter utilizes a precision clock source, which meets the requirements for use in a Stratum 3 clock system for network synchronization. Its precision clock stability enables servers to synchronize to a data network clock and serve as a stable clock source. Products utilizing crystals can drift significantly over time, temperature, and age, resulting in an inferior clock synchronization solution. In PTP applications the SFN6322F limits drift and increases precision, which are key factors for high-precision PTP clock synchronization. The SFN6322F server adapter features a Pulse Per Second (1PPS) input that can be utilized to calibrate the PTP offset. It also features a 1PPS output-timing signal aligned to the SFN6322F's Stratum 3 clock.
Low Latency at High Message Rates
The SFN6322F server adapter delivers low latency at high message rates along with 40 Gb/s bi-directional line rate performance. It is suitable for environments where clock synchronization is critical, such as financial services, industrial automation, geological sciences, and telecom services. Featuring a set of stateless offloads, it provides efficient acceleration of network protocol tasks.
OpenOnload Application Accelerator
This server adapter supports Solarflare's OpenOnload application accelerator, a user-level network stack for Linux. OpenOnload provides low latency performance with application compatibility and protocol compliance, bypassing kernel and networking overheads, while featuring binary compatibility with standard APIs and applications.
Energy Efficient
At 3.1W per port, this server adapter enables low power consumption, offering low latency 10G Ethernet with additional precision time stamping capabilities.
