The Flareon Ultra SFN7122F Dual Port 10 GbE PCIe 3.0 Server I/O Adapter from Solarflare is a dual port 10G Ethernet SFP+ (Small Form-Factor) server adapter that delivers low latency and high message rates over standard Ethernet. It also enables low CPU utilization and power consumption, providing performance and scalability for enterprise data center environments. Featuring a set of stateless offloads, the server adapter reduces CPU processing loads for network tasks. With OpenOnload application accelerator, the adapter bypasses kernel and networking overheads, providing performance with seamless application compatibility and protocol compliance. OpenOnload features binary compatibility with all standard APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and applications.

Accelerated Applications and Optimized Server Input/Output
The Flareon Ultra SFN7122F server input/output adapter enables low latency networking solutions for electronic/ high frequency trading and other latency sensitive applications. It accelerates HPC (High-Performance Computing) and Apache Hadoop (open-source software framework) by providing high message rate, low latency interconnects for compute clusters. The SFN7122F's CPU offload along with performance enables servers to provide more services to more users in cloud and grid environments. The server adapter also accelerates database, social networking, email, and other storage-intensive applications with high bandwidth and low latency for SAN and NAS environments.
Low Latency
This server adapter supports PCIe 3.0 with low latency features such as direct packet transfer (Tx PIO) mode and the template send API (Application Programming Interface). It also features hardware acceleration to optimize packet delivery, such as UDP (User Datagram Protocol) multicast replication, integrated layer 2 switching capability, and VLAN (Virtual LAN) insertion / removal, along with TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO) to reduce CPU load.
Hardware-Assisted Virtualization
With vNICs and virtual PCIe functions, the server adapter's performance scales as the number of CPU cores and VMs (Virtual Machines) increase, supporting more applications per physical server. It also supports NetQueue, VMQ, and SR-IOV used to accelerate guest applications in hypervisors, such as ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM, and Xen. This eliminates network input/output barriers, dedicating full network bandwidth directly to VMs while maintaining full hypervisor management services. The 16 physical PCIe functions enable granularity and scalability when allocating Quality of Service for optimized bandwidth utilization as input/output fluctuates.
Network Services
The Flareon Ultra SFN7122F server adapter enables deploying servers for a wide range of applications with a single server adapter. With AppFlex technology, this server adapter provides the flexibility to selectively add and control services such as network monitoring, precision time, security, and application acceleration to servers.
