Behringer B1200D-PRO overview

  • 1Description

The Behringer EUROLIVE B1200D 12" Active 500W Subwoofer is designed for professional live sound reinforcement applications. The unit features a 12" long excursion woofer powered by an energy efficient Class-D 500W amplifier. Built-in thermal and clip limiters protect the speaker and amplifier from overloading. Externally, the box features a steel grill to protect the cone and ergonomic handles for easy transport. It includes a pole socket for mounting speakers with commercial spacer poles.

For I/O, the subwoofer features two balanced XLR inputs, two balanced XLR outputs, and two XLR Thru jacks for connecting to additional speakers. The back panel includes a tunable and switchable +6 dB bass boost knob between 40 and 90 Hz, a phase button for inverting the polarity of the signal, a 70 to 150 Hz high frequency cut knob, and a volume control.

The high pass filter does not affect the XLR Thru circuit. A set of three LED indicator lights show power to the subwoofer, the presence of a signal, and when the limiter is engaged.

    Behringer B1200D-PRO reviews

    EUROLIVE B1200D 12" Active 500W Subwoofer is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great subwoofer Needed for a small church where visitors often sing with prerecorded music tracks. Don't need to shake the walls just beef the low end the mains don't handle. My favorite is weight! At 43 pound with the great built in handles, it is a breeze to carry. It runs cool and seems well protected both electronically and physically. If more boom is required you could buy two and still get what you need. Behringer makes a 15 and 18 well priced but take note of the weight. Remember, it is so easy to overdo bass. For the size church that uses this one it is more than enough. I am really pleased with the build quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real Bass! Real Punch! What a amazing little sub ...Right out of box carried 2 of them with no sweat( I used to use a hand truck to carry just one Mackie 12 inch active sub!!!).Connections with my other gear were easy and... after testing a track from my arranger keyboard I was shocked: clean, punchy heavy bass on the outdoor setup for the festival! 6 hours of non stop work with different music groups and DJ's killed my last skepticism!I just used 50% of power! These subs are real and the description is 100% correct. Can't wait for the next week gig indoors to enjoy this subs.Price is great, shipping was lightning fast and sound is real!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small powerhouse Like all of the reviews said, this little thing is a beast. I wanted something small and light (50lb or less) for my 12 Yamaha PA speakers, and for how little I would use them for band jam or an occasion DJ gig for a friend or neighbor, I couldn't justify spending double this for a Yamaha or EV sub. Well, this thing kicks butt and has real nice clean bass. I haven't tried it outside with the rest of my PA system, but I doubt I will be disappointed. It's a great value for the price and sounds fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is AWESOME I just got this an what to share my experience in the hopes of helping others. I am using a Behringer PMP2000 powered PA with 3 - B212XL passive speakers. What I have done is I run the 3 B212XL off of the Main powered section of the amp. the B1200D I run off the monitor out on the front of the amp. I know I am not taking advantage of the filter built in to the B212 XL. But let me tell you it works perfectly. Make sure you do not run a powered signal from your amp to the B1200D or it will all go Poof. My 1st gig is this weekend. Let's see how it goes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for what I need Part of my business is mobile DJing. For most weddings I find my Behringer VP1800S subwoofer (paired with a Behringer EP2500 power amp) was being wasted and the effort to haul it around wasn't worth it. I've never turned them all the way up - even at an outdoor wedding. I purchased the B1200D in hopes of being able to have sufficient sub-level bass for dancing at small to average sized gigs while still being able to get my whole PA system in my car. The sub arrive undamaged in it's own box (free shipping and no tax- thank you B&H.) It was easy to unpack and set up as long as you have the right cables. I tested it out in my garage with my B212XL tops and couldn't have been happier. It sounded amazing - and about as loud as I expected. (It is a 12, after all.) I used my decibel meter and measured a steady 110db at about 1 meter while playing dance music. (I didn't test peaks.) That's still 92db at about 25 feet. Two days later I used it at an outdoor wedding and only used about a 3rd its power playing country music. The music sounded great and was easily heard all the way across the long back yard. (Unfortunately they didn't dance so wasn't able to crank it up.) I have no doubt this will do everything I want it to do. It sounds great with a good amount of volume. It's light enough for my 10 year old daughter to carry and fits into my car (as opposed to needing my SUV with the VP1800S.) It's well built and looks very nice. I think this would be plenty of bass for most wedding dancing as long as it's centered adjacent to the dance floor. If a client wants to go big they can pay me to pack the 18 monsters. Otherwise the B1200D is going to be my go-to sub-woofer for weddings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful little dude!!! I have a vocal group that utilizes backing tracks and this little sub is not only light weight for us old timers to handle, but powerful enough to handle about 90% of our venues (100-150 people). I'm using it under a pair of Behringer 215xls, and it is keeping up nicely at the volumes we run for 50's, 60's, and 70's music. I might consider buying one more!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent bang for the buck! Bought 2 of these subs to compliment a smaller dj setup that I was building for easier portability to smaller gigs. I have these paired with a set of harbinger v2112 12 cabs. Very nice sounding combo. Most people will ask why I chose a 12 sub paired wit 12 mains..... The woofer in a mains cab is not really designed to put out really loud , low bass, it is really designed to be more of a midrange driver. These subs WILL make a noticeable difference paired with a 12 top. This sub at 43 lbs this is a lot less weight than the usual 100 Lb 18 subs that I normally carry. Sub has nice punch to it, and will be great for most types of music for small to medium gigs. I play mostly hip Hop and R&B and although for most people this sub would be adequate playing this type of music, I like to fill the room with sound, and these subs are not quite as powerful as I would like. Am I asking a little too much out of a 12 sub? Probably... Would I recommend this sub to a friend? Yes. Have done about 15+ 4 hour gigs with these and have been overall satisfied with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and real easy to carry! I have a part-time mobile DJ business and this little sub woofer really puts out a lot of real, thick, authentic down low floor shaking bass sound and is so small it hides under my DJ table. Weight is only 43 pounds which is really nice as I get older (55) and down-sizing is my goal. I've been lugging around 4 big 18 passive subs, each over 100 pounds, for years in a trailer with lots of other gear but usually only use 2 of the subs for most jobs. Now I can literally use my little Saab convertible to get to smaller gigs (no trailer needed) and still have real sub woofer bass, which is a personal fave of mine as I can't stand using just mid and high end speakers - gotta have that bass!My only concern is that the electronics in it will eventually break and I'll have an expensive repair bill but it did come with a 3 year warranty so - what the heck, I went for it. You may want to buy 2 units if you really want to shake the floor with hip-hop and rap music but for me it has been plenty for the average wedding, birthday, retirement, etc. parties. For school dances, I'll still use the big subs.
