  • 1Description

Store and access up to 4TB of your files in a desktop computer, NAS device, or RAID array using the 4TB Desktop Everyday SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive from WD. 4TB will allow you to store movies, photos, music, documents, and much more. Compatible with computers running Windows and Mac OS, this hard drive connects to your system's 3.5" bay via the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface.

In terms of speed, this drive operates using WD's IntelliPower rotational speed. This means that rpm speed of the drive depends on the operations being performed. If the drive is performing mostly sequential reads and writes, its speed will be increased as compared to if it were performing mostly random mode operations. This 4TB drive also features a 64MB cache to help ensure uninterrupted data transfers. Included with this hard drive are mounting screws.

    WD WDBH2D0040HNC-NRSN reviews

4TB Desktop Everyday SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have bought several here This is a fine product for what i use it for, serving files via network. I have three NAS devices, all using WD green HDDs. I adjust the green parktime from the standard 8 secs to a more reasonable 5 mins, using a freely available utility called wdidle3. Improves use-ability of green drives for NAS service. Do a quick search for park time and adjusting the wdidle wait to park. In fact, you should make this parktime adjustment if you intend to push this HDD into a RAID or NAS service. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable workhorse for video and all med If you're like me and require massive storage, but prefer to minimize use of NAS & RAID arrays, these 'green-label' WD drives are the answer. I own seven and have more on order. I use them in conjunction with the Highpoint Rocketstor thunderbolt HDD dock (available from B&H). I keep active Final Cut editing projects on a G-tech 8tb drive thunderbolt drive, backing them up to these WD 4tb greenies. Back-ups scream along at thunderbolt speed, and at these prices multiple volumes for protection are very affordable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great drive for it's purpose. This drive is great but it's meant for archiving/backup. I think even the box says everyday storage. You should always use 7200RPM for your main OS. This drive is 5400RPM. And again, it's perfect for archiving or backing up your files, media, etc. Highly recommend getting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for backups and archiving This is my fourth WD 4TB Green drive, which I use for backups and archiving. These drives are reliable at a good cost/TB. I have been using two of them striped together in a 8TB partition for a year without a single problem. With drives like this it has become so inexpensive to keep multiple backups of even the largest image databases that data loss problems have become a thing of the past.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this again anytime good drives for lots of storage! I have not had any troubles with WD drives for a long time so these should be fine, I am hoping anyway. I do wish they had the sata cables tho, they came without any and I had to go buy some.if not for that I would have given 5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from reliable storage for your data I have used Western Digital Green disk drives in my 2 drobo drives for years. I never had a fail and they are very stable. I can not speak to speed since I have not compared them to high speed disks such as the WD Black but for backup they are fast enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value for a lot of memory Put 4 of these drives into a Drobo Gen. 3 unit (total of 16TB). The price for the 2 pack was the best I have seen anywhere at the time of purchase. The drives are very quite and do not run hot at all. So far so good and hope it stays that way!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Normal User Drive Was looking for a Hitachi 4tb Drive. Found this WD for a good price. Never have gone wrong buying a WD drive till now, rarely crashes, easily recoverable drives. For those buying (my 2cents) buy Hitachi or WD. Stay away from Seagate.
