The Q1614-E 1MP HDTV 720p Indoor/Outdoor Network Camera with Arctic Temperature Control from Axis Communications delivers detailed video in demanding video surveillance conditions, such as poor or highly variable lighting. Identification of an incident is easy, thanks to clear video with 50 or 60 fps in HDTV 720p video quality. It incorporates the unique Lightfinder technology that makes the camera extremely sensitive to low light, effectively allowing recording even in dark conditions. The Wide Dynamic Range with dynamic capture allows the camera to provide homogeneous images, without too dark or too bright parts.

The IP66-and NEMA 4X-rated Q1614-E camera features a robust aluminum casing and sunshield and wall mount bracket for easy installation. It is protected from dust, rain, snow, and sun and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 122°F using High PoE. The camera not only functions at -40°F, but it can also power up at that temperature following a power failure. This feature is known as Arctic Temperature Control. To ensure effective heating, multiple heaters are placed in direct contact with the camera and the window.

The camera offers Dual Shell technology, where an internal shell stores heat in cold environments. A fan ventilates the housing in hot environments, where the heat is transferred to the outer aluminum chassis for efficient cooling. The leveling assistance feature guides you to achieve the correct level, meaning that the camera can be installed in virtually any location on almost any type of surface, and will still provide clear and level images.

The auto rotation functionality flips the image to the right orientation, also when Corridor Format is used. The camera is further protected with shock detection, a capability that sends an alarm to personnel during attempted vandalism. Focus assistant, remote back focus, and pixel counter are capabilities supported by the camera. Installation is made easy with Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af), which eliminates the need for power cables. The camera also has a memory card slot for storing recordings locally.

For greater installation flexibility, 3 cable gasket holes are available for an Ethernet cable, a power cable, and an external device connected via the camera’s I/O ports. In addition, the cables are vandal protected and the front window is replaceable.
