Proavio DS316F8 overview

The 64TB DS316F8 Single Controller Storage Array from Proavio combines a single active RAID design and sixteen 4TB 3.5" 7200 rpm SAS hard drives for capturing, editing, and rendering full resolution videos without compromising on quality. This array offers a single controller that delivers data with performance and reliability via four high-speed 8 Gb/s SFP+ optical ports. It is designed in a 4RU form factor and includes 4GB of RAM.

The hot-swappable hard drives can be configured in RAID modes such as performance, redundancy, or both. This array supports SAN network configurations such as VMware, Xsan, and more. These features provide real-time file sharing in IT infrastructures as well as postproduction workflows. When the drives are set for performance, the increased read and write speeds will better handle 4K media formats such as DPX, RED R3D, ARRIRAW, and more. Furthermore, a dual-port 6 Gb/s SAS expansion bus allows data growth capacities up to 192TB by using multiple 16-disk expansion nodes.

This storage array comes equipped with redundant hot-swappable modules that offer power and cooling. This feature provides redundancy and reliability for critical and intensive data applications. In addition to the modules, this array is compatible with Thunderbolt-to-FC bridging technologies for adding support to Thunderbolt users.

This storage array comes pre-installed with sixteen 4TB hard drives, which offer up to a total capacity of 64TB.

Included with this array are dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies and cooling modules. The sixteen drive trays are also hot-swappable.
