Manfrotto MP1-PP overview

  • 1Description

The purple Small POCKET Tripod from Manfrotto is made for compact cameras up to 1.3 lb. With a maximum height of just under 1", this pocket tripod is ideal for group shots or self-portraits with a self-timer. Its legs are independently adjustable, so you can level your camera on uneven surfaces.

The 1/4"-20 mounting screw slides along the length of the tripod, so your camera can be balanced on the base. Weighing only 1 oz, the lightweight tripod is made with an all-metal construction for durability. Non-slip rubber feet help keep the tripod from sliding on smooth surfaces.

    Manfrotto MP1-PP reviews

Small POCKET Tripod for Compact Cameras (Purple) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, Sturdy. Coming from a previous version of the Manfrotto Pocket seriesManfrotto Modopocketthis is a dream. Its slim profile sits nicely on your camera (currently on a Nikon AW110) and does not add much bulk to the camera so leaving it on is not an issue. Having three independently adjustable legs as opposed to my older one's 4 rubber feet makes this very sturdy and capable of adapting to more terrain. It is easily adjustable and the tension is steady on the folding legs thanks to spring tensioners in the pivots. I was a little concerned when I opened the package as the tripod felt like it was made of a plastic composite but it is actually made of a zinc/magnesium alloy. The -20 screw is solid and it attaches firmly to your camerawith a long slot for side-to-side adjusting if your socket isn't centredwith a little help from a coin. I have used it on flat surfaces and not-so-flat surfaces with ease. I have yet to see how it holds up to underwater use but I will update if I can when that happens. I would totally recommend this to anyone who wants a sturdy, go-anywhere, with-you-all-the-time mini tripod for their P&S. It offers incredible value for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small & Handy I bought this to use with my Lumix LX-3 camera. I don't want a tripod and figured this would be useful for self portraits or long exposure as well as bracketed exposures. The only thing I wonder about is the keyring sized locking screw tool. Mine didn't come with one and I am not sure if it is supposed to. I will have to contact Manfrotto about that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay Well, I know this is for point and shoots, but it cannot carry much weight at all. I wish the springs were just a tad stiffer, It would be much more useful. My other gripe is that It covers my battery/sd cover so I cannot replace them without taking it off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't know it's there unless you need it... They say the best camera you have is the one you have in your hand. This extends the pocket camera and makes great selfies possible -- no fuss at all. It's the thickness of two sticks of gum -- you barely notice it's there until you need to use it. Fabulous and stable like my big Manfrotto 055C but this Pocket model will always be with me...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great idea! Small, light, and very useful for quick self-timer shots on a small camera. This would work mostly on compact pocket cameras, but also on small mirror less cameras with a short lens (so as not to unbalance it).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth carrying Hard to attach and does not give much adjustment at all.
