The Radeon R9 270 Graphics Card with Ghost 2.0 Thermal Solution from XFX Force is a computer graphics card with Windows software for gamers and other users who require or will benefit from the additional processing power a dedicated GPU can provide. Not only will the GPU help render graphics faster and more effectively, it can also accelerate computationally intensive tasks such as transcoding video when used in conjunction with GPU-aware software and APIs.

This version of the Radeon R9 270 features a 900 MHz GPU that can be overclocked (boosted) up to 925 MHz. The GPU incorporates 1280 stream processors which not only act as shaders for rendering display graphics, but also allow applications that support parallel processing to perform hundreds of simple computations at once. To move data to and from the GPU as efficiently as possible, the card features 2GB of DDR5 RAM clocked at 1400 MHz. Because DDR5 RAM transports data at four words per cycle, the effective memory clock speed works out to 5600 MHz.

The card can be connected to a variety of displays, including computer monitors, HDTVs, projectors, and many 3D and 4K devices. It features an HDMI port, a DisplayPort port, a DVI-I (digital and analog) port, and a DVI-D (digital only) port. Additionally, it supports up to 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution through the HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.

Popular API Support
Supports DirectX 11.2, OpenGL 4.3, OpenCL, Shader Model 5.0, C++ AMP, DirectCompute 11, AMD Stream Processing, Mantle, and other APIs. These provide faster, more precise graphics rendering as well as supply additional processing power to GPU-aware applications, helping to shift some the processing workload off your computer's CPU
Ghost 2.0 Cooling System
Combines solid capacitors, a ferrite core choke, a 2 oz copper layer, and an IP-5X fan which together are designed to keep the card within a safe operational temperature range, even when running overclocked, while generating as little noise as possible
Multi-Monitor Support
Immersive Gaming: Use up to three monitors to create a "wrap-around" display that gives you a closer approximation of natural peripheral vision than a traditional, single monitor setup

Enhanced Productivity: Display multiple applications at once on different screens or spread windows from a single application across several displays to create a larger work area--particularly beneficial when using photo, video, or audio editing applications

AMD Eyefinity Technology: Support for multiple independent display outputs simultaneously, including up to six displays via DisplayPort when a Multi-Stream Transport (MST) hub
Multi-GPU Support
AMD CrossFire technology allows you to combine two compatible GPUs using the CrossFire Bridge Interconnect Cable to increase the total graphics processing power of your system
AMD PowerTune and ZeroCore Technology
Dynamically regulates power to the GPU depending on usage for lower operating temperatures and less energy consumption; increasing power when needed or reducing it to close to zero when not in use
Image Processing Features
Applies anti-aliasing and other image enhancement filters designed to render smoother, more natural looking graphics. These include:
  • 4x Faster Tesselation than previous generation
  • 24x multi-sample, adaptive anti-aliasing (MSAA)
  • 16x angle independent anisotropic texture filtering
  • Horizon-based ambient occlusion (HBAO)
  • Particle physics and fluid dynamics
  • Partially resident textures (PRT)
  • Multi-threading
  • HDR texture compression
  • Brighter whites processing via Blue Stretch
  • Independent video gamma control
  • Flesh tone correction
  • Color vibrance control
  • Dynamic contrast
  • Dynamic video range control
Quad Data Rate (QDR) GDDR5 RAM
Because GDDR5 RAM can transfer up to four words per cycle, as opposed to one word per cycle with traditional RAM, the effective data rate is quadrupled, allowing this card to process data transactions as quickly as if it had a 5.6 GHz memory clock speed
PCI Express 3.0 x16 Support
Provides twice the bandwidth of PCI Express 2.0; for example, an x8 PCI Express 3.0 slot has the same bandwidth as a x16 PCI 2.0 slot. In addition, the card remains backward-compatible with motherboards using earlier generations of PCI Express
Additional Features
  • Decodes: H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2 (SD and HD), MVC (Blu-ray 3D), MPEG-4 Part 2 (DivX/Xvid), Adobe Flash, WMV HD
  • Advanced post-processing and scaling
  • De-blocking, de-noising, automatic de-interlacing, and mosquito noise reduction
  • Edge enhancement
  • 3:2 pull-down detection
  • Supports 7.1-channel surround sound and LPCM, AC-3, AAC, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS Master audio formats
  • Double precision floating point computations
