The Radeon R7 250 Low Profile Graphics Card from XFX Force is a computer graphics card for gaming and other applications that require or benefit from having a dedicated GPU. In addition to driving displays, the card can supply additional processing power to a growing number of GPU-aware applications.
This version of the Radeon R7 250 features a 1000 MHz GPU that can be overclocked (boosted) up to 1050 MHz. The GPU incorporates 384 stream processors which not only act as shaders for rendering display graphics, they also allow applications that support parallel processing to perform dozens of simple computations at once. To move data to and from the GPU as efficiently as possible, the card features 2GB of DDR3 RAM clocked at 800 MHz. Because DDR3 RAM transports data at two words per cycle, the effective memory clock speed works out to 1600 MHz.
The outputs are: one HDMI port with HDMI 1.4a support, one single-link DVI-D (digital only) port, and one VGA port. The card can drive up to two displays at once, and can be used with HDTVs, computer monitors, and projectors, among other devices. In addition, the HDMI port supports 4K (4096 x 2160) TVs and displays at up to 30 Hz.
Popular API Support
Supports DirectX 11.2, OpenGL 4.3, OpenCL, Shader Model 5.0, C++ AMP, DirectCompute 11, AMD Stream Processing, Mantle, and other APIs. These provide faster, more precise graphics rendering as well as supply additional processing power to GPU-aware applications, helping to shift some the processing workload off your computer's CPU
AMD CrossFire technology allows you to combine two compatible GPUs to increase the total graphics processing power of your system
AMD PowerTune and ZeroCore Technology
Dynamically regulates power to the GPU depending on usage for lower operating temperatures and less energy consumption; increasing power when needed or reducing it to close to zero when not in use
Low-Profile Form Factor
A single-slot, low-profile design means this card is suitable for installation even in compact, space-constricted machines as long as they have a free PCI Express slot. Additionally, no external power connection is required by the cooling system
Image Processing Features
Applies anti-aliasing and other image enhancement filters designed to render smoother, more natural looking graphics. These include:
Because GDDR3 RAM can transfer up to two words per cycle, as opposed to one word per cycle with traditional RAM, the effective data rate is doubled, allowing this card to process data transactions as quickly as if it had a 1600 MHz memory clock speed
PCI Express 3.0 Support
Provides twice the bandwidth of PCI Express 2.0; for example, an x8 PCI Express 3.0 slot has the same bandwidth as a x16 PCI 2.0 slot. In addition, the card remains backward-compatible with motherboards using earlier generations of PCI Express
Decodes: H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2 (SD and HD), MVC (Blu-ray 3D), MPEG-4 Part 2 (DivX/Xvid), Adobe Flash, WMV HD
Advanced post-processing and scaling
De-blocking, de-noising, automatic de-interlacing, and mosquito noise reduction
3:2 pull-down detection
Supports 7.1-channel surround sound and LPCM, AC-3, AAC, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS Master audio formats
Double precision floating point computations
