  • 1Description

The black ECG-1 Grip from Olympus is a right-handed, removable, non-battery grip offering a more secure hold for shooting with your E-M10 Digital Camera. The shape and the textured surface, which has the same feel as the camera body, give you more to hold onto, so you can enjoy improved handling and shoot more confidently, worrying less about your valuable camera slipping out of your hands. The grip's base runs along the bottom of the camera and attaches to its threaded tripod mount. A single press of the lever on the bottom of the grip makes it possible to remove it for easy replacement of batteries and memory cards.

Olympus ECG-1 reviews

ECG-1 Grip for E-M10 Digital Camera (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite perfect! This grip does all the description promises, but why the designers did not think off integrating an arca-swiss style tripod mount, like the Fujifilm grips/bases do, beats me. This would make so much sense, since the base has enough thickness that it could have been done easily. As is, each time you want to mount the camera to a arca-style head you'll have to add another plate to the two-part base, or take the handle off, then the handle-mount and attach the tripod mounting plate. Considering this, I think the BOEM10, arca-swiss style mounting plate from RRS for the OM-D E-M10 is a better choice, although it's not a handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get a grip! This is absolutely essential to have on your EM10--especially if you purchase the 12-40 f2.8 Pro lens. It will make holding the camera and lens a perfect combination. When you set down the camera, you will not be putting a lot of pressure on the lens hood. It is a snap to remove to take out the SD card and change the battery. I think they should incorporate it into the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Grip This camera grip is perfect for the E-M10 especially given the size of the camera. It feels nice and secure in the palm of your hands and I have small hands. The only thing that might be a bother is that you won't be able to flip the screen out while the grip is attached but I never do that anyway so overall I enjoy this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good grip Adding the grip to the Olympus OM-D E-M10 makes the camera ergonomically right. The built in grip is useless with my large hand. The accessory grip fits my hand perfectly, allowing easy one handed operation. This is very important to me as I use a cane to help with my balance. Once the grip is secured via the tripod socket, there is a button that, when pushed, allows removal of most of the grip for changing the battery or SD card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A grip for all seasons I have the E-M10 and use it mostly with the 12-40mm I find the whole system head heavy and holding the camera all day long could lead to tired grip and fingers When B&H announced they had the ECG1 in stock I immediately bought one I 'm not disappointed with the purchase by any means The grip allows me to have a bit more grip on both depth and length It also makes the camera look kind of professional and cool It's light and does not add much weigh to the system It can also be quickly removed by a flip of a lever so you can have easy access to the SD card or battery Some may want the ability to have extra batteries and shutter trigger but that would add more weight to it I'm OK with what it is and am happy with it For the price , it's a real winner for this body + coupling with larger and heavier pro lenses If you only use primes on the E-M10 the grip may not be necessary Cheers ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have For E-M10 I wouldn't consider myself to have large hands, but the E-M10 felt a little too small when it arrived. Adding this grip greatly improved the ergonomics of the camera, and adds a little extra weight as well, which is nice. The button on the bottom provides quick access to the battery / memory card as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly! Really makes a difference, especially when using longer lenses. For me, much more comfortable than the E-M10 without the grip, since I tend to hold the camera in my hand with a wrist strap for hours on end. When necessary, slips on and off to access battery / SD card compartment. A must-buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Expected The grip for the EM10 is much better than I expected, it's well made and works well with easy access to the battery and SD card. It also feels very good on the camera when using larger lens. It completes the camera.
