Olympus 9mm f/8 Fisheye Body Cap Reviews

Serious Fun

After reading some of the reviews I decided to gift myself with this cap lens. I am glad I did. Premise: I am not particularly attracted by a fish eye lens, but this little thing has its own perks. First, it is lightweight and almost unnoticeable. It fits perfectly my Oly OM-D EM 10 Mark II, making it super-light and unassuming (sounds great for street photography). It removes the responsibility to look for that perfect shot with my other lenses but, wow, it is truly sharp for what it is (once you play with the manual focus gear, which also opens/closes the lens. It seems to be a lot of fun for videos. At this point, the only question I have is: Why didn't I buy it sooner?

A true wide angle lens of good optical quality, weighing close to nothing, that can be carried in a shirt pocket ,for around 100 bucks!!....what more can you ask for?

Light, incredibly inexpensive, Olympus quality , which can be carried in your pockets and give you wide angle capability without the extra bulk or weight when you want to go out light.

... this lens delivers. And you can't beat the price. But it's the 35mm equivalent of an 18mm lens - not a true fisheye - and you're stuck with a single aperture - F8. Moreover, focusing is limited and the optical performance lags behind my Rokinon 8mm. So it ain't for everybody. Just the same, I'm having a great time with this lens.

Just used my newly purchased Olympus fisheye on a photo outing to Brooklyn NY. Performed well in good lighting with some vignetting which can be corrected in post processing. Great little lens to take along for some fun fisheye photos.

Really amazing quality. I thought it was bad until I read the instructions and realized it has a focusing switch you must set. Now it's amazing for the size and cost.
