Westcott 3730-DP overview

  • 1Description

The Westcott Deflector Plate is designed for the Zeppelin line of parabolic softboxes. It creates a beauty dish-type effect and eliminates hot spots while also softening shadows. The plate works by bouncing light from the source back into the reflector which then reflects the light in a more uniform manner.

    Westcott 3730-DP reviews

Deflector Plate for Zeppelin is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but... I recently bought this to use with my 35 Zeppelin. It's easy to install and really brings the modifier to life. The light from my Zeppelin w/ the head pointing out through two layers of diffusion is lovely but, used that way, it's essentially just a soft box, imho. Used as a parabolic umbrella, however, with the deflector installed in the rear of the modifier, the light is exciting. That said, Westcott is being unbelievably cheap in not simply including this bit of flimsy metal with your purchase of a Zeppelin. I was surprised to see just how flimsy it was. Bugs me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job Since I have two Zeppelins para umbrellas, the 36 & the 59. Two beautiful light tools! My favorite way of using them is to shoot my light source into the Umbrella bouncing it out of the Zeppelin, and to do this you should cover the hole where the flash goes in normal position. I first just covered my hole with some thick Aluminum foil but it got old real quick, this plate is fits perfect and works great. A must have if shooting into your Zeppelin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to expand uses of the Zeppelin Turns your Zeppelin into more of a beauty dish effect vs without this attachment. Makes the mod much more useable.
