question

I have recently bought a Canon G1X mk iii. I can't find any setting to enable magnified focus as on my previous G16.Is it even possible on G1X mk iii? If yes, can you please guide me what settings I should use.Best Regards Kristin
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, the magnify still works, but without the box . Simply hit the MF button & point camera in direction of your subject. After a second or so the field image is subtly magnified . . . you'll see a 4 point display in middle of LCD with ^ icons . the space between these icons is actually magnified without a box. You twist your circle adjust dial to focus or tap the up/down button inside the ring to change the view of the area you manually focus.A very subtle change by Canon that's normal to miss at first.

question

Will the flash YN600EX-RT work on this camera?
Asked by: MATIAS
I have not used that model of flash, so I can not comment with certainty if it will work. However, I have a Sigma EF-610, designed for Canon cameras, that I use with my SLR, and it seems to work great with the G1X, out to about 15 ft on auto. Beyond 15 ft or so, I tend to set the flash on max output, shutter at 1/60, and adjust the f stop and ISO as needed. The G1X has a standard hot shoe so any flash will work in manual mode. B&H also has standard Canon Speedlites for the camera. Another thing to think about, the Sigma flash I have is about twice the size of the G1X, significantly increasing the bulk.

Rather than a tab, the What's in the Box section is listed on the right side of a product's webpage next to the product's description.
